Because no school serious about long-term success wants him. He’s be fine at a school looking for a bump up in 1st year ticket sales and doesn’t care about performance or longevity.

He did a great job here, but he’s nothing but a cartoon now.

Other schools are smart enough to see that LSU made Les Miles. It's really not that hard to see.

ETA - without LSU's talent and resources, he's a 6-6, 7-5 coach, at best. Look at his record at OSU before he walked into a gold mine, and then proceeded to under utilize his talent for the better part of a decade. Schools are looking for coaches who won with less talent, not coaches who lost 2-3 games a year with top 5 talent.

I remember the story was he interviewed for Houston last year and told them he was going to bring Lincoln Riley in as his OC

His strong suit isn't speaking. Even after we have seen the dumb shite he has done, I think he is more hireable now. At least he got a title. But before he got that title..who would honestly conduct an interview with that goof ball and think hey we just gotta have this guy.

This x 10 Billion.

Been saying it for years. It shoukd have been a crime with how much talent he underutilized.. lsu made miles. And yes it was a gold mine and all he did was follow sabans blue print for locking down the state.. hell he won most of his games with jimbo as OC and pelini as DC. His coordinators did everything..

Spot on man ????

At least he got the talent and not a bunch of 3-stars like Coach Rougarou, who's supposed to be a recruiting guru.

Jimbo was with Miles for two seasons, Pelini 3, ending with the 2007 NC.

We had an undefeated regular season with Stud as OC and Chavis as DC.

AD - "So Les, what makes you have this, how did you put it, want to coach here?"

Les - "Yes, I would enjoy that."

AD - "Ok, that about wraps it up I think."

Reminds me of a guy I new in college, in order to keep getting unemployment he had to go to interviews, so when he did he told them he wanted 80k a year and a company car.
Was doing this at interviews for Best Buy, the mall, and construction companies.

He doesn't really want an offer, so he closes the interview with:

He did go after the Houston and Purdue jobs. Hard to call either of them top tier.

No binder; school no care

My knowledge is limited to Houston but he did show up with a binder. In it, he had Steve Sarkisian as his OC and Mike Locksley as his DC. Apparently, he thought he'd just raid Saban's analysts.

His interview with UH lasted under 30 minutes, unheard of in these types of interviews.

I can understand blue blood programs passing on hiring Coach Miles but I'm truly surprised a program like the Oregon State Beavers and their 1-11 record raised their nose to Miles. I figured an NC winning coach would be great for Oregon State and TD Staff reported that Miles wanted that job.
