And those checks (about 650K after taxes, and agent fees) stop coming in 4 years. Then what? At almost 70, no one will hire him

Have you ever heard of a little thing called retirement?

Given I'd say it's more likely Les is not being hired, but if I was in Les's position I'd be picky as hell and only go to an absolutely perfect situation for 4-5 more years.

Why would Les not be picky? If at his age with the money he has made he can't retire, then he's terrible with finances. Who wants a stressful crappy job in their 60s?

I personally wouldn't worry about the pay in his situation, but choose a situation that fits everything he wants to succeed and be happy until he retires.

I would guess too that if he was offered a job, that could affect his buyout? So maybe he has to make sure he is offered the right job?

Why does everyone think Les wants to be coaching?

He can go watch his kids play college sports and just relax while still collecting nice checks.

He's satisfying terms of his buyout to "seek" employment and just enjoying life.

They guy did a lot for the school and he is gone and you clowns still can't let it go.

In short... go frick yourself.

Very sad that he was fired. The University should be celebrating him, but can't because they'll look like A-Holes.

LSU fricked the guy and no amount of money would make me feel better personally. I'm one of those guys that would want LSU sucking my dick 100yrs later as one of the greats.

Honestly, they should have let him step down and give him a statue. Sadly the world is cruel and now he's looked at like a mental case.

Because we are taking a good and honest person’s repeated statements at face value instead of listening to internet trolls?
