He would take a pay cut if he accepted any of those jobs. But he has to at least keep up the facade he is looking as a term of the buy out.

Why does that have to be explained 20 times a day.

Les is probably the most incompetent coaching prospect in the country and everybody knows it except for his rant admirers. Nobody will touch Les with a ten-foot pole. Of course, his admirers claim that's not Les' problem. Instead, they say that Les is too old, which is a very lame excuse when you consider the fact that Arizona State just hired Herm Edwards, who is not only the same age as Les, but who also has been out of the game for years and who also never coached college football in his life.

You're either very ill informed or just out and out lying.

Because it's not true.

He just honestly expresses his sincere belief in 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

I understand that there is a clear want to want and certainly we need to want to want that.

Maybe nobody wants him because he is old and was fired by LSU to be replaced with the DL coach. I don’t think any fan base wants him .

The irony of this post is mind numbing. UT and Arkansas are fumbling around in the bargain bin and according to the self proclaimed non biased LSU fan here no one want a NC winning coach cause he suck durrrrr.

Here's the reality....

Les won a ton of games here. In the years after the National Championship, he was winning a bunch of games while playing "Hide the QB".

Les Miles - we can say what we want about how goofy he comes across, and the pre-historic offense he had, all of the clock-management blunders....

But make no mistake about it, he constructed, and lead one of the most dominant, accomplished teams in the history of college football -

The 2011 LSU Tigers. #2 Nationally. Sec Champs. Defeated the National Champs on the road, The Pac-12 and Rose Bowl Champion Oregeon Ducks, defeated the Big East and Orange Bowl winning West Virginia, 2 other Top 10 teams that year.

Les beat National Championship winning coaches like Nick Saban (3 times), Urban Meyer (2-3 times), Bob Stoops, Jim Tressel, Phil Fullmer, Gene Chizik, etc etc etc

7 - 10 wins seasons.

9 Top 10 recruiting classes.

I'm not sitting here trying to prop up Les Miles. He has his faults. ANd he's 64, but ....

There isn't an available coach out there with nearly this many skins on the wall. His resume is fantastic.

Exactly, the reality is there just aren't enough good coaches around. Anyone who thinks Les couldn't land a power 5 job by close of business today if he wanted is delusional.

LSU would have to make up the difference for several years. So in real terms he would be working for free, but no pay cut.

Had a very reliable source with Tennessee connections tell me that Fulmer and crew were very impressed with Les's interview until he farted really loud 3/4 of the way through the interview. Phil doesn't think Les has the stomach for the SEC anymore

Les is getting $1.5 per year from LSU for 6 years.

$125,000 per month x 12.

LSU would stop paying him once he lands another coaching job that would obviously pay him more than that, if I understand his contract correctly.

He is just not that good of a coach. That is all. He is also old. He is not wowing anyone of his so called plans. So there is your answer.

Les has stated he wants to be where they are committed to winning championships. He's probably asking for too much money from some of these schools. I think some schools would want him, just can't promise him money for coaches or any upgrades to facilities he may deem necessary to win championships.

So you get to a point where both parties say no thanks.

If Les was just desperate for a job, he'd take one. I have no doubt about that, just wouldn't be at the 4 mil he was making here.

And the Tenn job is the only one we've heard his name for that I believe he was actually serious about.

Won a national championship and got us back to the game 5 years later.

You guys really are miserable clowns. Couldn't enjoy the good times when they were here because we weren't winning by enough.

Bunch of spoiled brats. That is exactly what you clowns are. Miserable spoiled brats.

They guy did a lot for the school and he is gone and you clowns still can't let it go.

In short... go frick yourself.

I'm "I'm 64" is the main thing. If you're on who thinks he really wants to stay home I sure he could follow it up with something like "I would like 5 million per year with a buyout".
