I don't think most people truly understand the absurd level of ego and hubris involved in this. The "plan" , to the extent there is a plan, is this:
1. Make the McNeese president the new LSU president
2. Force Woodward out and hire the McNeese AD.
3. Get Nick Saban to take the LSU job.
4. This upcoming spring use the Pres and AD to go hire Will Wade away from NC State.
5. Bask in the glory of orchestrating the coup to bring back to LSU the two most popular HCs (not counting baseball) over the last 25 years of LSU sports.
Sounds great...until both Saban and Wade say "no thanks". Then LSU is left with a disorganized group of ego/money with no actual leadership trying to run the athletic dept.

We’ll get a good coach, regardless who is involved in the process, I have no doubt.
The bigger story here is that Woodward is out. Which I personally disagree with. Woodward had flaws and missteps, but he’s a very good AD for LSU imo.

You know. I really think you’re right. I knew 1 and 2 were the plan, but I actually think Landry and the BOS think 3,4, and 5 will fall into place as easily as pie.
And when of course they don’t, LSU athletics will be a total shite show.
And who will get shite on? We the fans.

Listened to entire video. Maybe the way he said it wasn’t polished but what he said is true.
1. Scott Woodward did in fact bring in 2 failed college football coaches on 10 year contracts. Track record here suggests he should not be involved with picking and signing a head coach of football
2. Governor said he wasn’t picking but will have oversight by the board of supervisors
3. Governor complained about the monopolistic (my word not his) actions of the college coach agents and suggested it may need to be looked at.
How can anyone look at the current agent environment and not think there is an anti-competitive issue that may need legislation in order to fix.
Sure, a bit of political theater, but the points were not wrong.
