Wasn’t Fleck getting the job?

Either way Tennessee has better options for their head coach than we do for DC.

There's too many numbers in his user name for this to not be legit.

Ask Taylor why he was about to fire Jones before he made a lateral move to the Vikings.

I believe he is danny white's first choice.

He wanted him at ucf.

Dude is smart, runs a good offense, and is ready to be a head coach.
I like the hire.

I wish danny white was lsu's ad.

I don't love either option, but if I'm being honest, I think Tennessee may well do worse than both.

Why would he take that job?

Is there a realm of posibility where Tennessee doesn’t get crushed by the NCAA? There is no way this is the first job Elliot was offered.

It depends on what your definition of crushed is. It’s hard to know at this point since we don’t know the full scale of the violations, but I would only expect a one-year bowl ban and the loss of 10-15 scholarships over a 2-3 year period.

Do not forget about VOLS fans going into hibernation while waiting out on those punishments.

Maybe a fall back option, but he's not the first choice. Large offer was reportedly made last night. 5 years $40 mill

The next Dooley, Jones, Pruitt.....
Tennessee Football has a severe recruiting base problem. The High School Football in Tennessee simply does not produce the SEC level talent to compete at the SEC Championship level. Also, Tennessee cannot consistently outrecruit Florida or Georgia in order to win the SEC East. Throw in Alabama on the annual Tennessee schedule and that is almost 3 guaranteed SEC “Ls” every year and I do not see that changing anytime soon.

Is this like when Knoxville radio stations were reporting it's Fleck, or nah?

Over the last 8 years, Tennessee has averaged the 12th best recruiting class on 247. Clemson has averaged 10th. That's with Tennessee having a revolving door at head coach, and Clemson having stability.

The recruiting issue is overblown.
