I heard his buyout is insane if he wants to leave. I really hope we don't go that route. He hasn't impressed me at all.

That’s he and Dillingham both saying that they’re staying put

I wouldn’t put much stock in that, they’re still trying to win games. Didn’t Riley say he wasn’t leaving OU the day before leaving OU?

You're not getting Kiffin. I know you want it to happen. But he's NOT happening.

Dillingham was never going to happen

I would take Dilly if Lane doesn’t happen.

Kiffin, Dillingham, Brohm, Drink, Heupel, Sumrall. One of those will likely be our next coach

would’ve costed Florida urban Meyer who was at bowling green

I’m completely agree with the entire sentiment of your post about it being retarded to only want big names. But Urban did go to Utah after bowling green and win a BCS bowl. He was establishing quite a record of winning and winning big.

So if it is Kiffin, he would have until a certain date to commit or say no. We aren’t being held hostage.

And this is where you are fooling yourself. Kiffin holds the cards. He will wait until he is good and well ready. He has the ability to do so based on the demand for his services. Florida is thinking the same thing. I can 100% assure you that we will not know for sure where Kiffin will be coaching next year until after the season is over.

Yeah it certainly seems that for about 65% of this board it’s either Kiffin or hire is shite

LSU isn’t hiring, Sumrall, Golesh, or Eric Morris. You don’t buyout Kelly for 54 million, and inject millions into the football program, to get a group of 5 guy.

You mean like Texas A&M did with Jimbo/Elko? I know they haven’t won anything yet - but they’re trending the right direction & they were on the brink last year (Yes, I understand Elko was a prior DC there and Duke isn’t G5 - but hiring a 7-5 Duke coach vs a 1 or 2 loss G5 team seems comparable?)

I’m with you, I don’t think we do. But it’s not like it’s never happened.

No. As I recall, he said he wasn't going to LSU, not that he wasn't leaving OU.

Some people just don’t have a clue.Paying a huge buyout has nothing to do with hiring the next coach. If LK,NS,MF,DILL,ETC say no what can verge do.Throwing money around at coaches already making millions doesn’t mean they will want to come here.I don’t trust Kiffin ,he will string LSU,FLA along for his own benefit and leave everybody high and dry.

I personally like Brohm. I think he’s solid. However, have not heard his name much in regards to this search so far. Still early, but I think you can feel pretty confidently about scratching his name off.

HUGE mistake if so

I think people are confused by USC’s buyout to fire Riley. That’s 80 million. If he wants to leave early it’s around 10 million from what I am seeing
