It's not just the 7 days, it's the fact that you're going to have to keep upping your offer the next 7 days to beat the other 2 schools out. LSU supposedly already put their best foot forward. There ain't much more room to move up.

I actually agree. You let Lane coach that game with nothing but a promise and you’re risking him hitting an emotional high and signing an extension.

I’m thinking contract is signed, Kiffin is bound. Agreement made to keep it secret, and OM made agreement to let him coach Egg Bowl to “finish” season.
Everyone felt that was the best case for all parties? But know idea if any of this is accurate.

The regular season isn’t even over yet. LSU loses nothing by waiting. Your top guy that you believe can bring you championships is worth waiting a week for. If he doesn’t come there’s not a problem in going to your number 2 guy.
