I considered the Petersen angle months ago. It makes sense for the following reasons:
1. Petersen and SW have what appears a good and strong professional relationship.
2. Petersen is a typical SW big hire.
3. Petersen is available immediately after aTm game and can come in and rescue recruiting before the early signing period.
Petersen just makes sense at this point. Most of the other mentions are just too complicated (except for Napier).

Lookit, I've thought it was Petersen all along too. I think he was contacted after UCLA, a deal was struck in one form or another somewhere up to Ole Miss, and Petersen has been putting together his staff quietly since then for a post-TAMU game announcement.
But, no way did Woodward sabotage CEO. Especially with the assistants. Ed did that all himself. Ed started a pattern of escalating self-destruction after winning the NC, and it showed in his hires and on the field. Some people can't help themselves in that regard. I have that streak myself so I can recognize it when I see it. Don't lay it at Woodward's feet.
