This is a stupid admin that hired someone who coached in an organization that covered for a pedophile. EVERYONE that had a part in that org now has a question mark over their head already, which is completely understandable. Northerners obviously might tolerate that sick shite a bit but down south? Hell no. Tennessee didn't ruin his rep - Sandusky / Penn St did. The 'outrage' is an admin so clueless to try to make the higher in the first place.

All true and good defenses in a court of law where you need to meet a high standard.
However, if you are making a hire to be the face of your program you do not need to meet the same standard.
McQuery was the star witness for prosecution of Sandusky. His testimony was weighed as one of the most daming aspects that lead to convictions beyond Sandusky.
The timeline: John Doe 101 , in the deposition, claimed that several staff and coaches walked in while he was in the shower with Sandusky --roughly 88-90.
Others victims said he did this as well before (police reports from the 80's.) And he continued this same practice at least until the mid 90s (specifically in the shower room.)
Now McQuery relayed what he was told by someone else. Someone who said Schiano had seen events that we now know were actually occurring in this time frame at the very specific location mentioned in the deposition of one of the victims. BTW these showers were for coaches and were locked and not available to non-staff.
McQuery did this under oath. If he did not know who the names were, why risk perjury?
Finally, the Sandusky Story broke in 2011 and Schiano was asked if he knew about Sandusky and allegations of child abuse. He said he did not want to "get into all that" and would not comment.
He only tweeted a denial after his name was released in 2016 when the depositions were made public.
None of that would be enough to convict a man. But it sure would be enough not to hire him.

Right?! I mean the AD knew about his past, but went for it anyway. Trying to back out after the media crucifies you will only hurt you more in the long run. Oh well. I guess UT will get a new AD and HC.

This is spot on. It’s like the Alabama senate race. People don’t give a crap about stuff like that they just use it as an excuse to get “outraged” and stop something they don’t want. It’s so messed up
If this were ALWAYS the case, then Bobby Petrino wouldn’t be slumming at Loserville. He’s there because no one else will touch him with a 10 foot pole even though HE IS A GOOD COACH. That is absolutely proven.

Nah. What petrino did wasn’t really even that bad and is hard to get worked up over plus he’s a good coach so that wouldn’t work

1) McQueary never mentioned Schiano during the trial as it wasn't fit for court proceedings.
2) Just because he gave a testimony, doesn't mean his testimony and everything he said in it is 100% true.

McQueary said that Bradley said that Schiano said he saw something.
Bradley denies this convo ever took place, he denies he heard anything, and Schiano denies everything. Are we supposed to believe McQueary heard this with 100% certainty? A conversation from almost 30 years ago?

Again, Bradley denied McQueary's entire account of the matter and the information was never used in court.
NEVER USED IN COURT. IT WAS NOT IN A COURTROOM TESTIMONY.
COURTROOM TESTIMONIES ARE NOT 100% TRUE.

NO. HE. DID. NOT

But that is not the focus of hearsay. It’s not about whether McQuery perjured himself or not (he may have told the truth), its about the reliability of the statement. And there is a reason secondhand statements are impermissible (barring specific examples).
The reason is because hearsay is unreliable. We do not allow a witness (McQuery) to offer evidence he (McQuery) heard someone (Bradley) say that someone (Schiano) said something about someone (Sandusky). If you want the evidence, you have to get it from Bradley or Schiano. Because the further things get passed down the chain the more unreliable they become.

This is big news right now. In two to three more days Schiano will not be even a speck of thought on anyone's mind. Something else will happen and all this will be forgotten. Welcome to modern day america.

We all know this is the TRUTH. So now replace the AD who looks to have already had Schiano sign the contract.

Bradley knowing nothing can’t even possibly be true. Schiano is definitely in doubt and no way they could go after that story, but there is no way that sack of shite Bradley didn’t know anything. Sad they couldn’t get more proof on that tool.

This ^^^
Tennessee should just drop down to the fcs level for a few seasons.

I hope Tennessee gets somebody that really isn't a worth a frick now. Their protests had nothing to do with the PSU ordeal, they didn't like the hire because the name wasn't sexy enough. Tennessee will be even more of a joke now after this.

Normally I'd agree but this is making national news and is so unusual that it will be around for awhile.

I heard Currie knew nothing about this Saturday night
PSU stuff aside there were many reasons not to hire schiano that are well documented

I'm sure there will be a lot of passing the blame around on this one but couple of UT Officials saying tonight that driving force behind GREG SCHIANO was VOLS mega booster and Browns owner Jimmy Haslam...He previously interviewed him w/Browns & supposedly pushed hard for him..
