tCombover

Under contract through ‘29 at 3.5 million.

Iowa St is a better basketball job. LSU can try and offer more money and greater brand exposure.

As for any NIL concerns
quote:

Iowa State, just like every high-major school, has a collective with an NIL budget, but Otzelberger doesn’t want guys who prioritize NIL or want to be promised anything. He prefers telling recruits the truth and then seeing if they agree with his assessment. “We’ve got to do the hard things,” he said this fall. “Let’s hang out and have some fun. But it’s still about the hard things and the truth, not about selling you on the NBA.”

Im sure offering a king’s ransom to the Sacred Heart coach would be way funner.

Iowa State isn’t a blue blood by any stretch and their history is lesser than LSU’s.

It’s not like being hired away from KU or UNC.

Not Woodward’s style. He’d much rather give an outrageously long contract to a has been.

I dunno, maybe because when our major sports have competent coaching we tend to win nattys. The ceiling is highest level at LSU.

What natty of note have the Cyclones won? It’s a little brother school.

Good luck with this. Otzelberger has a $17M buyout.

Well with that attitude LSU will never get a decent basketball coach. You gotta tussle with the better programs to get the better coaches or else LSU just gonna keep settling for coaches from mid majors

I wouldn’t hate it tho our luck he’d revert to UT Shaka and our teams would (still) struggle to break 60 points.
