re: This is the best time for Saban to retire. He probably won't, but here's why he should.

No idea what his future plans are. He's just of a different mold.

I doubt most of the younger Bama appreciate the stability Saban gives. When high profile assistants leave, they never miss a beat. It's not like that anywhere else.

But we make it way too easy for him. We have a better batural recruiting footprint than Bama. But instead of having an Admin/staff committed to winning championships, we had Les who was self-handicapped and now 4-man front Ed.

So infuriating.

Death

Taxes

Saban

Is what it is.........guy will not be retiring any time soon. It’s his total being on the sidelines and recruiting. And, it’s hurting college football now.

This sounds slightly desperate when LSU fan is giving the best coach in history advice on career moves.

He’s tied with Bear for 6 titles at Alabama, he will stay so he can win more titles than Bear at Alabama.

Yep, he wants #7. After that he might think about it, but you know damn well he isn't stopping now until he tops the King!

Has he reached the status of John Wooden? Not quite sure. Would he if he won 10 National Titles? Probably. With only 7, will Dabo catch him? Perhaps. That might be sufficient motivation for him to keep going.

Wooden won 7 national championships in row, that seems like Saban's next challenge

Saban won't stop until he cant physically do it anymore. He's like Bobby Bowden. Will be there until the bitter end.

It’s sabans world, not alabamas. I love the notion that Alabama fans think this success is because they’re Alabama. No, it’s because of Saban.

You’re not special. You got lucky he wanted to leave the NFL and Rodriguez turned you down. Sabes would be doing this at any other program with the will and resources he demands.

Saban isn’t going to coach into his 80’s. I would bet he’ll retire in the next 5 years regardless if his health is good or not. Everyone expecting him to be another Joe Pa or Bowden is fooling themselves.
with zero basis besides your desire for it to be so. saban has said a million times hes going to keep coaching as long as he can do it well. If he can do it well into his 80s, he will. The guy is a marvel physically, unless he gets a major disease no reason he cant go into his 80s. Hes got more energy at 70 than ive had at any point in my life

Saban will be one of those guys that end up dead 2 years after he's done coaching because that is his entire reason to exist. He's got at least another 3-5 years in him
