He’ll stay til 74/75 and probably get another 2-3 titles. I don’t like it but I’d put money on it.

Yeah I given up on the narrative that staff turnover will be the downfall of bama. In fact I have completely come around and I think it is what keeps alabama great.

Saban got his Earnhardt on Monday night.

But he's not retiring any time soon.

Saban will die on the field.

That’s just the facts.

Just a little different off-season to navigate (or lack of one) compared to 2019 to 2020.

Huge player turnover plus huge staff turnover coupled with COVID, civil unrest and zero Spring practices? Yeah, same as the previous year.

How many times did Alabama have the ball in the 2nd half with a chance to take the lead in a packed BDS?

Saban isn’t going to coach into his 80’s. I would bet he’ll retire in the next 5 years regardless if his health is good or not. Everyone expecting him to be another Joe Pa or Bowden is fooling themselves.

However, this was before he caught covid and then stated that missing that one game made him realize how much he loved coaching. Honestly I can see him around for another decade barring any major health issues. Its just who he is and Im not sure he could adapt to not being a coach or being around football

This.

I can see him doing like the Bear did and dying almost immediately after retiring. He'll have to be dragged off the field kicking and screaming.

He will coach himself into the grave trying to pay off Mrs. Terry's real estate blunders.

He’ll coach and retire and die less than a year later.

He really has a chance to go out on top right now.

For years he hasn't looked happy after wins. He has looked relieved.
Lou Holtz---and I'm sure there are many others---said that when winning only gives relief instead of feelings of accomplishment, it's time to go.
Go out on top you evil little bastard genius...

Major turnover has never been an impediment to Saban. Here we are scratching for google coaches and Saban is about to hire a former NFL head coach as his OC. He's light years ahead of everyone. I looked at their coaching staff several months ago and couldn't believe that almost everyone had only been there a couple/three years. It's had zero effect.

Saban is also the youngest 68 year old ever. He still connects with the players and they obviously still connect with him. He's not retiring anytime soon even though it might seem to be a good time. He appears to have plenty of gas in the tank but bama better enjoy it while they can. It's going to be a hard fall when he does retire. I was just a kid but I remember how Bama went from penthouse to outhouse after Bryant retired. It took them a decade to recover and even that was short lived. They'll never see this kind of success again in our lifetimes. Nobody will. I don't know if O is the guy to do it but we're in as good a position as anyone to follow Sabans success. LA produces so much talent and we can recruit nationwide. We need a few more great seasons in a row and sky's the limit. I hope we can take advantage.
