you think Ingram is going to finish with a better career than LF7?

I love LF, even if he is better Ingram is a pro bowl caliber player. The gap isn’t that big

Literally only SFP could come into a thread and shite on LSU by saying Bama's Heisman trophy winner "ONLY" ran for 1700 yards that season.

I don’t understand why people can’t be realistic about 2017.

i think the biggest issue is that if your argument is true, then starting Etling was a disaster

that's the big thing. either we were rebuilding and we should have taken lumps with Brennan or we were set and roll with Etling

O split the baby and left us in no man's land

hell you can get into a similar discussion re: Key. if we're rebuilding and it's a lost season, then Key should have been apart from the program until he was 100%, both physically and mentally

Recruiting is like 80% of the battle Bunchie. Y’all act like this is rocket science.

Hot coaching names win points on a message board. Players win in real life.

Clapp is staying.

They brought in Traore to replace Weathersby. Also have Deculus competing at that spot — for the star gazers, a former 5*

if we start getting into pro stuff, LSU will separate from Bama (Again, showing it's a system thing)

I don’t feel like looking up the exact numbers again but since 2010 which is the first year players that signed with Saban were draft eligible Bama’s had like 9-10 more players drafted and I think more than twice as many first rounders

eh

Ingram didn't hit 1k yards until year 6 in a high-powered offense

LF7 did it as a rookie with a rebuilt OL and a QB that took a long time this year to develop, plus losing their #1 WR

Maybe, but we have been able to scrape by getting at least 8 wins with poor and inconsistent coaching. That has a whole lot to do with the level of talent we bring in

Program poison would be to have a losing season or 2. Great players don't want to play for a loser. There are countless examples of once great programs hitting rock bottom and never making it back to the top

Easy to say now. But if our D doesn’t let us down vs Troy & ND we win 11 games and no one cares that Etling played all season. Etling was the team leader, everyone looked up to him. It was the right call even in retrospect. This isn’t a video game where you toss guys to the side with no emotion to play for next year, that isn’t realistic

How many other 1K rushers has that Offense produced..

I too love LF but let’s not pencil him in for Canton just yet.

let's be clear. he did this in 14 games

RBs winning a heisman in the modern era is a very rare thing.

the only RB to win it since Ingram was...Henry (who only avg 5.6 ypc, compared to Ingram's very solid 6.1 in 2009)

the RB to win it prior to Ingram was reggie bush, who averaged 8.7 ypc and 1740 yards rushing (his total, which i don't like to use, was insane, too)

i'm not saying Ingram or Henry didn't have great years, but the only reason they sniffed the heisman was b/c of Bama's hype. the voters said "we have to give the best team the heisman, so i guess we'll give it to their RB"

2009 should have been Tebowm McCoy, or Suh and 2015 should have been Wastson, Zeke, or LF7

I disagree, they latched onto Miles because of personality & early winning ways. It wasn’t recruiting

you think O is a coach that's going to lead a "rebuilding" LSU to 11 wins? c'mon bro

you're turning O into a Saban or Urban-level coach with those claims

new coach
new regime

and you always have to be looking forward

we threw plenty of guys to the side to allow all those true freshmen to play

every year when it came time to think about Miles, the recruitards and their "we have to keep this class together" rallying started

every. fricking. years.

i'm talking even before 2012 when we should have let Les hang himself and go to Arkansas. i'm talking when we were in the post-Saban talent doldrums of 08-10

We’ll end up with 5 consensus top 100 guys. Nothing outstanding, but like I I said earlier, we’ll sign the best set of skilled players in the country.

2019 will hopefully be a lot better with the talent in the state.
