Your arguing with a guy who said our defense let us down against troy and ND
Troy mind you, we had zero points at halftime and 7 points thru 3 quarters
And ND mind you, we held their offense to 3 points at half time and only gave up 21.

quote:you play to win today. I saw very little out of Brennan that screamed he was ready to start out side of a rumor that Canada wanted him to start (which has no substantiation that I’m aware of but is of course 100% believed as gospel).
that's the big thing. either we were rebuilding and we should have taken lumps with Brennan or we were set and roll with Etling
No head coach would say ‘frick it let’s just lose 6 or 7 games this year and play the player that hasn’t earned it so we’ll be ready next year.’ That’s a giant frick you to the seniors

i think the biggest issue is that if your argument is true, then starting Etling was a disaster
As I was saying to another poster, if one of the sources of O's rift with Canada really was snaps for Brennan then he's dumber than I ever dreamed possible

That's not what I'm saying at all. Lester is the one absolving O and the offense of guilt for that game because the defense "let them down"

I disagree, they latched onto Miles because of personality & early winning ways. It wasn’t recruiting
I remember even ardently anti-Miles posters expressing some reservations about letting him go considering some of the recruits we had on deck

not if you're rebuilding
then you're playing to build for the future b/c you can't "win today"

the point is to give him time in a pressure-free environment to grow for 2018
now, we have a completely inexperienced QB in 2018 and nothing in 2017 to show for that loss of development. we probably won't even finish the year ranked. we literally have nothing to celebrate in the 2017 season

well he gave them the middle finger anyway so your own argument works against your point

thank you
even most of the anti-Miles guys were hoping we'd get in somebody to salvage the class
very few people were like me who didn't' give a flying frick about a single class

HIS RECRUITING ISNT THAT GOOD
In 1 calendar year he’s rebuilt both lines & a depleted LB unit.
LSU is gonna have a top 10 class in a down year in the state.
He’s already making great headway into a loaded 2019 clsss
What is your view of it?

i've heard it from people i trust
and it makes sense given O's mental deficiencies, insecurity about the job, and loyalty to those who allowed him to pull off this ruse
same reason why Ensminger is an option at OC and why he keeps trying to get coaches he's worked with before

Quite possibly. I'm not an insider and will never claim to be. But it was thrown around pretty often.
And before the rift became common knowledge Brennan was seeing the field

not if we admitted this is a rebuilding year
like UGA last year or Bama in 2007
results-oriented thinking fails and only randomly works in short bursts when luck hits
process-oriented thinking is how you sustain success

Nah it was always his record they cited. I know sfp remembers that thread Speedy started that went on for like 6 years with his updates record:
That and their affinity for Miles the person.
Recruiting was never a hang up until it was clear he wasn’t going to be around

and O is a failure of a head coach who should realize he's reaching down a barrel that's led to his failures
if he doesn't admit this, he's going to lead LSU into darkness that will take years to fix

if O sat down and told the fans strap in we’re gonna suck this year I’m thinking that would not have gone over very well.
so he puts his own personal PR ahead of the team? i'm not shocked
sounds just like what a person like O would do
