but I feel like you would legitimately be in favor of benching the seniors once we are out of the SEC championship race.

if they were worse than their backups, yes

This happens a lot anyway. Did we lose the seniors by playing Fournette over McGee and Hilliard?

ah but playing Darrel Williams does nothing to help us win next year. We are winning nothing this year so CEH and Nicholas! Should have played instead.

Still completely missing the point. Quit being obtuse

part of the coach's job, imho, is to establish that culture and belief system with the fans (and team)

Why do you put fans before team?

your argument is very similar to the people who criticized the pats early on during their run for their ruthless dealings with veterans. lawyer milloy was the first great example. they used the same sorts of emotional arguments "this will never work because you're dealing with people blah blah blah" and look at their success

It’s not similar. You’ve had some weak comparisons today, Jake. NFL system is very different than cfb for many reasons. Things are different when money is involved. Even with that said you are talking about things fundamentally different.

Playing to that point, we started and played a lot of Freshmen over older players this year. So you can’t sit there and say they aren’t taking this approach. They are doing exactly what you are saying. 24 frickin freshmen saw time!!

Do you not understand the difference between positions. At RB you don’t need experience QB is different and if your frosh isn’t better the Danny Etling then we are in trouble

You are trying to make it about every position and player like they are the same. They are not. I am talking about a specific player and season

The true freshman was not better than Danny Etling. He will be but he wasn't last year.

Do you think Brennan couldve taken care of the ball as well as Etling did?

For every Deshaun Watson there are successful QBs that have waited their turn behind upperclassmen.

I think fans are going to have fun watching Brennan throw to Giles, Drake, Sullivan etc next year. He’ll have his growing pains but he’ll get to sling it around & develop without Etling looming

because this thread is a bunch of fans freaking out over efficiency

my job is to sell it to fans, so that's my focus

and there is a very real possibility we just lost our OC and have to install a new system next year with a shaky roster on offense because our head coach refused to listen to our OC about doing this with our QB

i suggest most people in this thread take 20 minutes and listen to this podcast: Hard work is irrelevant

i fight against this culture in my own industry b/c it's dominated by the belief in being paid hourly.

That’s irrelevant to me, I think maybe we lose 1 more game with him than we did. You want to avoid turnovers because it hurts your chances of winning not for their own sake.

Usually the QB ahead of them is very good not a place holder. It’s not the end of the world but Ideally he’d at least have gotten more reps. It’s a total waste to play him as sparingly as we did in a nothing season behind a below avg QB
