Arkansas peaked when he was the HC there. I’d give it some serious consideration.

He needs a binder.

I'd like to see him coaching somewhere but not at Arkansas.

I heard him say a while back that he had been "learnin' an' studyin'.

This is simply not true. The argument could be made for a couple other coaches (most recently Petrino having us #3), but not Nutt.

No matter how much wishcasting goes on by opposing fanbases, Nutt isn't walking through that door. How long has he been out of coaching now? Why has he not coached that long? The game has passed him by.

This is the same coach that couldn't make a 3 NFL player backfield into anything remotely dominant. DMac could take one to the house, pass, catch, and take direct snaps; Hillis could run, plow through defenders, line up in the slot, block, and catch; Felix Jones could run, juke anybody, line up in the slot, and catch. There were so many possibilities for an innovative approach that were wasted.

TLDR - Nutt ain't coming back

is tempting to do it if only so we get to enjoy the once a year "how the hell" game where he knocks off someone like LSU or Bama.

Granted that also comes with the once or more a year "how the hell" game where he loses something he should have won.

He was the master at this. The guy had LSU’s number that’s for sure

If Nutt uses his recruiting and motivation skills and hires good coordinators he could do well. He needs to not be stubborn and go back to calling his own plays on offense.

I’ve heard a lot of the reason he didn’t change before when he brought Gus on as OC was due to AD Frank Broyles wanting Nutt to stick to a more traditional style of offense and that’s why Gus and Mustain left after the 06 season

Maybe Saban will retire and recommend Nutt to aLabama like he did when he left here.

ICYMI on @1037TheBuzz , @CBSCoachNutt said on the SWNN that he has been contacted by the University of Arkansas athletic department regarding the open football position.

ETA: Can you believe that was 12 years ago? And that it was Saban's first victory of significance at Bama?

What kills me and I know back then only a few teams were running it but why didn’t he implement an option spread type offense for Matt Jones.

Jones should have been in some type of shotgun 80% of the time instead of doing designed runs out of play action in the i form. What a waste.

Matt Jones did run a good amount of read option from shotgun, but yeah, if he would’ve played in an offense that was 100% tailored to him he would have been an even bigger monster.

Love that photograph. The quintessential Houston Dale Nutt, Jr.

Screw the haters Arkansas, just do it.
