The general response to Kelly, who did AMAZING things for ND, is disgusting

Pretty cold-hearted of the media and ND fans to trash the winningest coach in their history who not only did that, but also did it in the modern era without the historic advantage of ND attention.

If he had been there 5 years, maybe, but he was there for over a decade and left them in GREAT shape. They are pieces of shite for complaining about him leaving after what he's done. He left them a top 10, 11-1 team. I think they should thank him instead of trashing him.

If anything maybe this will fire Kelly up to prove these naysayers wrong.

The same people who thought Orgeron was a genius move think this is a terrible hire. Let that sink in.

Who cares what ND or the media thinks? Just as a general rule, if the media says something and I feel the opposite way about it, I think that's generally a good thing.

He's our coach now. Let's ride.

Do you really think LSU fans would be gracious if our coach of 12 years left? I get what you're saying but it's not logical based on the reaction that our own fanbase would have.

ETA: I think Kelly is a good hire and I'm excited about it, just pointing out that LSU fans would absolutely melt their fricking faces off if a successful coach bailed.

If he was a good coach during that time and brought them a lot of success, how could they complain?

If they bailed for another school our fanbase would have a meltdown and you know it. This fanbase melts when a coach doesn't come here during a coaching search. We also completely lost our shite when Saban left and he fit into the mold that you're describing.

I am letting that sink in. After I howled with laughter! Great point.

The ND fan reaction reminds me of us when Saban left. In fact, there are some of us still calling him Satan.

The biggest thing that annoys me is that media members who were mostly just in awe or neutral on Lincoln to USC are up in arms about this one like it’s so different

Bruh LSU fans would murder a guy who left us with an inside track to the playoffs

It's justified but will wear off eventually

ND is my second favorite team....and their fans mostly suck and think they should be Ohio State but not have to spend the money or get dirty like Ohio State. Essentially they are more arrogant than LSU fans but are also arrogant about being above the fray.

its dumb.

in the end in todays CFB.....10 years is about the limit for most coaches at one school. and honestly schools should be good with it and understand it.

To be completely honest, if I played for ND or was a fan of theirs I’d be pretty pissed off too. ESPECIALLY if I played for ND.

It’s a slimy move on a personal level, the only reason we are ok with it here is because it benefits us

Notre Dame people are very prideful and snobbish. And they have the pedigree to justify being that way. Right now they are hurting and have just been smacked in the face with the reality that LSU is a much better modern-day “blue blood” type FOOTBALL program than they are. Our facilities are way better, our recruiting is more fertile, the pay is obviously better, our conference is the absolute best (and getting better). There’s just tons more upside here, and it hurts their pride… and it’s understandable.
