Former (fired) Florida CO-DC & Dline coach.
Was Giants Dline coach 2020-2021 season and Penn State 2014-2019. Before that was Dline coach at a bunch of places and started career coaching on offensive side of ball.

Not encouraging he was just fired at UF. I know he had a good reputation at Penn State and can recruit. I would expect us to announce our DC hire in the next day or two as well if we are hiring position coaches

With how quick that happened it appears they knew Robinson was leaving a while before the news broke.

Luicci said they already had a contingency plan if/when ERob turned A&M down. ERob announced to Syracuse earlier today, Spencer announced tonight.

Elko and Spencer have been close for a while I believe. Coached together at several stops early in their careers

Sometimes that trust factor works out - Denbrock
Sometimes it doesn’t - Cam Cameron

That hiring friends thing seems risky.

Some are already at it on texags lol

Most seem to recognize this for what it is. A good recruiter who was just fired for lack of development and causing drama. But he’s a friend of Elko.

Seems many Aggies are disappointed thus far.

Most coaches hire assistants who they have connections to for at least part of the staff. I don’t really care about that part

They’re right to be. Especially after Liucci hyped up this contingency plan.

I think he is a good coach in a bad system for him to be coaching in. We play a lot of 2 gap and I am not sure he is comfortable with it. Our dline was terrible and you could see awful fundamentals like pad level issues pretty easily. I wouldn't doubt he had issues with our DC either. He definitely didn't recruit well this year, but has a good pedigree.

He was also supposed to go to Duke when we swooped in and got him 2 years ago. He definitely has a pre-existing relationship with Elko.
