No one cares about PAC 12 football anymore, other than a smattering of leftover "toxic masculinity" fans of USC.
The whole Left Coast has been taken over by SJWs, it's been considered a bad thing to be a sports fan.
Probably the lone college game that was cancelled due to Covid this season, a Cal game, was probably praised in the local press as "upstanding" and "caring" about the world we live in.
Riley will be able to float around for a few years going 8-4 or worse, getting pounded by Notre Dame annually and others, and no one will really care.

Honestly, I'm disappointed in Riley taking the USC job over the LSU job.
But, at least that tells me what type of a man he is.

It's the smart play. Great recruiting base if he can tap into it. Media loves the school when winning.

He doesn't get a brutal schedule and can make playoffs on a frequent basis.

I warned y'all once. Make the Sec too tough and then you beat yourselves up before playoffs.

It's the smart play for him.

The PAC12 is a dying football conference and has been for a decade. They play in half-full stadiums, their alumni don't care about football now and USC is probably the #5 sports team in their own city. Riley will dominate the PAC12 and make it year after year to the CFP and then get killed by an SEC team.

Its not smart it’s weak
Ascend to the highest level if you want to be special
All the best athletes and best coaches are in one conference and NFL rosters can attest to that

Norman, Ok Baton Rouge, LA or Southern California with $10 million a year. Not a tough choice.

Right

You have to take this into account

Quality of life on southern California with that much money makes it an easy decision.

Not what his decision was about. If that were the case all the top coaches would make their way to the west coast.

I was station in Silicon Valley during my USAF days and went to a few games out there and it shocked me how little they care for the game. I called them the gray poupon crown. Very polite hand clapping. I was thinking, "this damn sure isn't how we react in Death Valley or the Dome."

Is overrated as hell. Bunch of fake people; would much rather the South or Midwest.

Pretty much had this at OU, recruiting might be slightly tougher there

The SEC shits on the Big 12 and PAC 12 in terms of playoff appearances and success.

The conclusion has to be that Ryliegh is a bitch

What about the cost of living and taxes that are going to come with that $10 mil compared to Norman or Baton Rouge? This guy is a coward.

These days the quality of life in California is not what it once was. Maybe for the uber wealthy things are fine, but not for most everybody else.
