I don't think a Briles at LSU was ever a possibility, not that you were implying that.

Rumor is auburn was telling recruits that briles would be at auburn next year and was bringing stidham with him.

1. Briles has a personal friendship with Gus.
2. Auburn understands hiring him as an assistant isn't synonymous with "Briles is going to turn the program into a bunch of rapists". They also probably understand the media enjoyed singling out Briles because it's easy and attracts readers despite the fact that the Baylor situation was far more complex.
3. Auburn will give him a chance other schools seem reluctant to do, and Briles clearly wants to coach.
I'm sure tigertracker will jump in soon to call Briles a rapist and the creator of rape.

What's the point of either briles going to auburn? I understand that these offensive guys like to pick the brain of their colleagues and evolve their own system, but gus has a system... briles has his own... what would they run?
