I almost feel sorry for them. But the OU trolls who invaded this board insisting that Riley would never ever ever leave their blue blood program? Well, bless their hearts.

The more time goes on the more it seems like the guy did the university dirty. Didn't have a problem taking what he thought was a better job, but it's coming out slowly that dude has known for months (which explains a lot of things) and did some things that essentially nuke the place on his way out.

Yeah, I mean what are they going to do without their annual blowout loss in the playoffs??

Well I kind of agree with you here. IT seems Riley put tons of recruiting resources in terms of having coaches fly out to California, bringing in lots of recruits from So CAL to Norman for official visits and that resulted in some incredible talent from So CAL committing to OU.

However, it seems that he did that with the possibility of getting the USC job which now we know he in fact took. So it seems all those elite So CAL recruits are going to go play for Riley at USC. From OU's perspective, kids from Texas that normally would have been recruited and may have committed to OU and stuck with OU even now Riley has left have probably got slots with other P5 schools.

LSU of course does not have an HC either but I do think there is still enough in-state talent in LA (this year is an exceptionally good year) that LSU can salvage some type of solid recruiting class by signing alot of in-state kids, might have to take some 3 star kids. Now I think out of state recruits that LSU was after probably going to suffer.

If Lincoln Riley was in Oklahoma that might upset him.

After they ran their mouth about LR not going anywhere, coaches leave other programs to come to OU not leaving OU to go to other programs...well, you hate to see it...

Good for them - and even for the OU fans who were in the happy to see him go camp - still, the way he did them is pretty weak. Basically making himself bigger than the program.

They made out on the good end of this. Definitely don't want to take your team into new territory with a coach who is scared of the new territory.
