do a good job there.
Ties to the SEC
Coached under the God of Coaching
Made La. Tech somewhat competitive again.

I think he would do a good job but I'm sure they want more of a proven commodity. Unfortunately for them, that doesnt look like an option.

Dooley will keep Kiffin's Asst Coaches that the AD wants to get the job
Cutcliffe wouldnt be dictated to by the AD on who his staff would be
makes sense to me

Lovie smith is the new hot name.

Volnation is saying that the Bears are trying to help Lovie out the door..
His buyout is 11 million! Willing to lower it..
I think Dooley would be a better hire and cost a lot less
What does Lovie know about running a college program?
Much much different

And its really funny how much vol fans want this.
They HATED him when he was previously there.

quote:Lovie was an assistant coach in college for something like 13 yrs, including stops at ASU, Wis, Kent, TN and Ohio State. Game has change since then, but he knows the basics. Coached a SuperBowl team. Has a way better resume than everybody's favorite NFL coach for LSU.

I think Dooley would be a good hire for Tennessee. I know his record at La Tech was poor this season, but they had more injuries than most teams, and yet they were still competitive with many good teams. The program in general, since he took over at La Tech, is in much better shape than before he got it.

Maybe if Tenn hires Dooley, LaTech would bring Crowton back as head coach?

Crowton burned all of his bridges there. I think he left the day before NSD.

Tenn. should just go interim at this point.

Dooley would be a great choice. The type of guy who builds a program and is his final destination.

If they want a lovable nice guy that will keep anyone the AD says, I got just the guy.

I wouldn't set myself up for disaster and take this job if I were Dooley. However, if he thinks he is ready for the job.........$3M or so per year very hard to pass up.

Honestly, at this point I think Tenn. might be better off just letting Fulmer coach next year. He's proven and gives them time to make the right decision. They need to fire that AD ASAP.

This might be shaping up as an option that the school president needs to consider.
This is a steaming hot mess and an embarrassment to a once-proud football program.

If it were me, I don't think I'd give a Dooley type $3 million per year to start with. He really hasn't proven anything as a head coach. Maybe $3 mill including all the incentives, but he'd have to earn it.
