Kyle Shanahan perhaps?

It would be supremely unlikely that we get Kyle Shanahan.

Jimbo would be a good hire, although I don't know that Orgeron and a good OC wouldn't be the better one.

As for who? Beats me.

I like where your heads at, maybe we bring in Jimbo as OC for $6MM and keep O as head coach for $1MM. Boom! everyone is happy. We get to keep oh as cheerleader, motivator, recruiter; all the while having a great OC that can't be hired away the next year and a great DC in Aranda!!!!!

Can you say....CHAMPIONSHIPSSSSS!!!!

But maybe we just add something to Os title. Like maybe an "A" and "DL/RC" for something like "AHC/DL/RC". And make a small change to Jimbo title to something like "HC", yeah, now we are talking.

Sark?

Hanny brought this up today. That's a really intriguing choice.

I still think Jimbo is choice #1. But you sit down with CEO and have him say "Dave wants to stay, and I've had conversations with Sark and he's interested." Man that's an awfully sexy staff pick.

The question ultimately is who do you think has the best shot to keep the program advancing and winning championships? Jimbo or Coach O?

Some want to go ahead and give him a HC in waiting as well. Let's just let O sit in the booth while the coordinators call the games. Give him a statue also. Let's give him Joepa and Booby B privileges after 5 games. If it makes the fans happy, lets do it. Maybe in three years we'll get to hire a real head coach. We can only hope.

Here is the problem. Suppose he does get a well known coordinator (like Kiffin), and then that person leaves. We replace them, and that person leaves. O does not know offense and contribute nothing to it. We have a great defensive coordinator and must try to keep him. O's best spot is defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator. Give him a $500,000 raise; he has earned it. We must have a head coach who has tremendous knowledge of the offensive side of the ball.

That's a very legitimate question about Orgeron. I don't think anyone can say how good of a job he'd do identifying, recruiting, and landing a coordinator.

The $$$ behind the curtain is making it clear that in the off chance they keep O, they want a "big name" OC. That is why the OP was asked.

Sark would be a great hire if not for his problem with he bottle. That being said, Orgeron is a recovering alcoholic as well and maybe that is what Sark would need long term going forward. Only another drunk can keep a drunk sober.

Personally think Orgeron is underrated

It is likely Kiffin gets a head coaching job and Sark becomes the OC at Bama. Who are the other options?
I don't want Major. Saban canned him after a year. He has worked under coaches who are basically the OF's of the team including Herman.

Sleeper. Chip Lindsey/ Arizona State/ Southern Miss/ Auburn
Took the kid at Southern Miss and coached him to break all Favre's records. Fighting injuries at ASU but was putting up 50 a game with a young team.Great at making the QB successful. Runs kind of a read option spread....longshot but he is the next up and coming big time guy.,..

Probably end up at Auburn where their OC is looking at HC jobs..
