Jay Johnson is his current OC
What to expect from Michigan State's new offensive coordinator Jay Johnson

Long career as NFL assistant. Not a ton of success as an NFL DC but he did mostly coach the Jags and some shitty Bears teams. He did have a season with the jags in the top 10.
Was made AHC at Bama and Saban was not happy Smart stole him away to UGA
His defenses were very good at UGA. #14 and #6 National his last 2 years there.
He took over a bad team at Colorado and then took over Michigan State after signing day.
Currently has them undefeated and in the top 10. Could be putting together a great season. And if he wins 2/3 against Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State he will be a hot name everywhere. He’s also seen as a great recruiter.
That’s the pitch.

You see, that's the point, black coaches don't have that LUXURY.
Oh frick off, either you can do the job, or you can't. Tucker doesn't have enough experience as a D1 HC, and the experience he does have is mediocre at best. This Affirmative Action stamp of approval bs has to stop. We're getting rid of a culture hire, for what? To appease leftard's white guilt trips?

His audition month is coming. Should be pretty entertaining!

one issue I have is that a lot of his DC experience is that as more of a Co-DC, except in Chicago and well...
He replaced Grantham in Cleveland in 2008 and he was the sole DC there.
At Jax, he was DC "in name" for 2009 and 2010 (behind Del Rio) and then had the playcalling duties for 2011.
So, the fair assessment is - as the "sole" DC in the NFL, he had 2 pretty good years (2008, 2011) and 3 pretty bad years (2012-2014).

He cannot possibly be more unprofessional than Orgeron. Win?

So tell me how Lane Kiffin was sold to the teams he's coached
Kiffin is regarded as one of the best offensive minds in football. Does Tucker have that reputation for defense? Based on his resume, it appears to be the opposite. The guy is polished and can sell himself but it looks like it stops there based on results.

People are losing their mind because we’re enamored with him.
It’s not just because he’s black. It’s because he’s a black coach who is currently in the top 10 and undefeated.
If the second part changes the enfatuation probably will too. You hair can’t sell a bad coach.

I keep seeing posts claiming he was fired as DC in the NFL.
2008 - Browns DC
Romeo Crennel was fired as HC. Tucker wasn’t retained on the new staff.
2009-2011 - Jaguars DC
Jack del Rio was fired during the 2011 season. Tucker promoted to Interim HC.
2012 - Jaguars DC
Mike Mularkey hired as HC and retained Tucker as his DC. Mularkey was fired after one season.
2013-2014 - Bears DC
Mark Trestman was fired as HC.
The good news is that I don’t think he was ever fired as a DC. His bosses were fired often, and he was on staffs that were let go.
His one decent Defense was in 2011. That’s why Mularkey retained him, but it was a mistake because the Jags fell back to near the bottom in 2012.
His 2013 & 2014 Defenses for the Bears were two of the worst in franchise history.
I’m impressed he was a DC in the NFL for 7 consecutive seasons, and his head coach was fired in 4 of the 7 seasons.
Another selling point, Jake Peetz was a scout and analyst on those Jaguar teams with Tucker. Maybe we get to keep Peetz if Tucker is hired.

Yeah I don't get that. If you can coach you can coach.

There's a pretty good reason not to get tucker, then.

You cite he doesn't have enough D1 HC experience. But on the other hand many are enamored with Fickell, and many of those are anti-anyone else... the old "my guy or no one" mentality.
So how much is "enough" experience? Fickell has never been a P5 HC. Is that enough? Fickell has never coached outside the state of OH (tOSU, Akron, Cinn). Is that enough? Fickell has only held one HC job ever. Is that enough?
I'm personally high on Fickell, but the idea of "experience" seems very very fluid based on preferences.

Who said anything about Fickell, were talking about Tucker, who hasn't done anything to merit consideration other than be on a racially approved list according to those in the know.

When the frick did Lane Kiffin have enough experience as a D1 Head Coach? Again, that's the LUXURY I'm talking about a-hole.
