Post-Lincoln Riley - The Oklahoma fallout
Posted on 11/28/21 at 9:32 pm

So since we were so humbly graced and trolled by Oklahoma fans for the Lincoln Riley business this week, let's keep track of everything that has happened since ol dry brisket shocked the world with his decision to go to Hollywood.
Candidates per OU247
Kliff Kingsbury (real smoke here)
Jeff Lebby
Brent Venables
Shane Beamer
Mike McDaniel
Mark Stoops
Joe Brady
Bob Stoops (Their sources say he feels is too old for anything long term)
Staff Turnover
This is from their 247 staff -
Been told that Bill Bedenbaugh been offered to follow Lincoln Riley. Sources feel he is “most likely” leaving.
Also, hearing Alex Grinch may follow Riley.
WR Coach Dennis Simmons likely to follow - per Adam Gorny
Decommitments
2023 5* QB Malachi Nelson
2023 5* WR Brandon Inniss
2023 4* RB Treyuan Webb
Likely Decommitments Very Soon
2022 5* RB Raleek Brown
2023 5* ATH Makai Lemon
2023 4* WR DeAndre Moore Jr.
It was obvious that Riley was building a special, special class for 2023, headlined by Nelson. That is gonna be nil and void.
Basically OU is not prepared for this move to the SEC at all and this Riley move is gonna set them back tremendously.
You boys stick around and get some of this trolling since you spent the last week doing the same shite to us.

Kingsbury is coach of the #1 seed in the nfc with a stacked roster and a top qb and wants to come back to college? Not a chance.

They come up for air since going deep when the USC move was announced?

OU knew what they had and was willing to let him go. They'll be fine.

I'm surprised that the Kingsbury rumors seem to have some legs. That'd be a great hire for them. He's basically Lincoln Riley but with a nutsack.

Grinch has been calling for more physical practices and LR wasn't having it

i think each school and AD obviously have a number than they can stomach paying, they weren't gonna match what USC gave him anyway.
i wouldn't be so sure of how 'fine' they will be, given their list of candidates, albeit it's an early list.

So he’s gonna leave the 1 seed in the nfc and Murray to go back to college?

He’s not leaving. He has the golden goose in the NFL, young stud qb. You never run from that.

i dunno if he will but kingsbury just strikes me as a guy who will eventually come back to the college game...not necessarily this year, of course.

I don’t get Riley to SC… it’s a step down

It's a list of candidates put together by the same people who had Riley moving to LSU.
That doesn't mean it is the same list the OU AD has made.

They're never opening tigerdroppings ever again. I can't say I'm too beat up about the prospect of Oklahoma being a bottom feeder because Lincoln Riley completely and utterly fricked them though.

Talk about a 1-2 punch in the nuts for OU fans last night and today
A couple Sooner fans on this board probably wont be heard from ever again. They guaranteed Riley wasn’t leaving OU. And to make it worse, he didn’t even leave OU for a premier job lol

USC is a long, long way from the SEC.

If you peaked at OU and see an opportunity for a quick improvement at another big program that will help your stock.....it's great for Riley. The monster was getting to him....critics were getting louder.
I was anti-Riley so Im an outlier. But this is a smart move for him career wise. All he has to do is be half way competent at USC and they will be happy for a few years. Then bolt to the NFL or something.
