This isn't a job at McDonald's. If you want someone and they have a good resume, you offer them. Interviews are irrelevant.

People need to come to grips with the fact that Aranda and Napier were not on the list at all, not even at the bottom. Just because people on a message board put names out there doesn't mean that they're real candidates.
It's not a failure to have a contingency plan, they were just not a part of it.

Again, we have no idea what has been going on behind the scenes. Even if Woodward did heavily pursue Riley as his #1 choice, #2 could have said to call him back if Riley said no.
