This whole process has been a joke dating back to last year. Hiring O would put the cherry on top of this clusterfrick sundae

This is a down year in the SEC. All of the teams he has beat are teams we were expected to beat.

fans want to hire a D Line Coach by guppy-He has won every game he was supposed to win so far. -He beat two teams that were in the top 25 at the time he was playing them. -He has broken offensive records with an average QB and average offensive game plan (Same offense that was awful to begin the year) -He admits when he is wrong and he has shown that he is willing to change and adjust to correct these wrongs (Ole Miss HC philosophy) -Players love him and they are willing to work hard under his leadership -Over 30 years of coaching experience -Has plenty of support from his fan base (more important than you think) -Recruiting mastermind -He has faith in his coaching staff and lets them do their job. LSU has suffered with HC stubbornness the last few years. -Many top tier head coaches have respected his coaching ability and understand that he is very talented at the position he is in

Don't forget Fired Cam Cameron
He realized the current OC wasn't getting the job done and went with the best available for the job. I applaud this move and trust that he will make the right decision to get the best available again if he gets a shot.

I am unsure what it is that you wish to discuss. You start your thread blasting LSU fans who may think Coach Orgeron is the best choice. Then, you belittle their "perceived" reasons. And, then you say Coach Aranda is THE reason LSU has been doing so well this season. Forget all the returning starters he has had to work with. But, regardless, what is it you wish to discuss?

The most impressive thing about this season is Dave Aranda. I would go get a high powered offensive system Head Coach and try to retain everyone you can on the defensive staff. If there is anyway possible to keep Orgeron, keep him as long as you can.

Yeah, I think people assume an interim head coach just high fives people and hopes for the best. If that were the case, we would have gone winless the rest of the season.

You own a business. You have a spot to fill. You have a friend that needs a job, he is a great guy full of energy, the life of the party and everyone likes him. It is a very important job, one that if not done correctly could ruin your business. You have a stack of resumes and you have 4 or 5 that you have looked over. They all have proven records, lots of experience, the right credentials and have succeeded at their current jobs. Remember, this is your lively hood, your wife and kids and lots of other people are relying on you to make the right move. What do you do?

Geaux with the most proven option. If it is your buddy fine. If not then do what you got to do. Make it a business decision, not a decision based on emotion.

That is why me and many other folks do not prefer to do business with friends and family. If something goes wrong Thanksgivings, Birthday parties, Christmas and New Years parties can be awkward.

Real case in point. I had a cousin a few years ago who was having some severe money issues. He was a contractor. Let him work on my house. I know that he had done outstanding work on exterior jobs and had confidence in how he did things. But he did not have a lot of experience on interior house jobs.

The part of the job that involved exterior work went great as expected. The other part he sub contracted out to his pot smoking loser of a friend who fricked it all up. And due to the job taking too long ended up paying more than I thought I would. Needless to say he will not be doing on my house ever again. Analogy - BEWARE OF NOT GOING OUTSIDE OF THE FAMLY TO FIND THE BEST SOLUTION!!!

He's beating them by an average of 27 points per game won. Maybe when the other teams get better the games will be closer and coach O will only win by 17 to 20 points.

For work on someone's house it may be a good analogy.

When someone takes over a business four months into the year and shows what he can do by not only maintaining but improving the bottom line, is totally different than hiring someone that you have no idea if they can get the job done or not.

in other words a coach who seems hot in a high school type
of offense who controls his coaches seems like a good idea

The teams he beat we should have beaten. Granted, he should get credit for succeeding with the schedule he inherited. But, as a program we failed our biggest test with 0 points and 125 yards. The money people took notice too. Granted he was in an unfair position being left with an offense that he did not build.

Nonetheless, the OC he fired and the HC Alleva fired led an offense last year that outperformed this year's offense vs the Gumps. No matter how we slice it and no matter how better Bama is upfront compared to last year (they weren't suppose to be better in fact) we went 16-30 with a pulse of offense in the second quarter of last year's Bama game vs. 0-10 and absolutely no pulse whatsoever this year. That speaks volumes.

It is not just getting the best OC, it is about as a coach what can you do to help an offense long term by making the best EXECUTIVE and STRATEGIC decisions. I honestly think O can work short term if he gets the best OC possible for the start of his regime. But what happens when that guy leaves say after two or three years for a HC gig or NFL? Can O keep hiring the best OC possible for LSU? Can he sustain the program and its direction on offense past the first couple of years with his first hire? I have doubts.

I'm just looking for reasons people want O besides the fact that he can recruit the area well, and he is from Louisiana

I want Jimbo but I'll give it a shot. If he wins the next two games it is going to very difiicult to not take him seriously. This season had "disaster" written all over it, he has taken over and his only loss was a 10-0 game against Bama. And you don't lose Aranda keeping O, as a matter of fact I would think the staff stays together sans a new OC (I would like a new OL coach too). That being said I think if Jimbo wants to come you snap him up.

The 3-4 is what Herman's record will be in the last 7 games of Houston's season if he does indeed lose to Louisville this week and Memphis next week, to go along with his losses to Navy and SMU.

So you aren't just cherry picking a time frame, but you are pre attributing loses.

Who in their right mind thought Cameron was 'getting the job done'. That was the most obvious change that couldve been done.

1. 1 Loss (assuming he wins out) and a very strong possibility of going to the sugar bowl
2. He can recruit.
3. THE PLAYERS have responded positively to everything he has done
4. The fans enjoy him and he kept fans in the stands the WHOLE ALABAMA GAME
5. Oeaux will build this department out and keep up with the times.

To the Fisher crowd. Look at all those allegations with Jamis Winston. Rape, Steals Crab legs, Stands on a table in the Union. We don't need that shite.

Why hasn't he won more at FSU? Why has he let Clemson dominate all the ACC space?? Media, polls, recruiting. Why isn't he in the playoff talk more.

If I say "he doesn't come to recruit Louisiana kids"! You say "there is to much talent in FL he doesn't need to come here!" Point proved. WHY ISNT HE WINNING MORE or in the top 5 week in and week out?

I am about giving the little guy a shot and right now O is doing a hell of a job. Screw Fisher.

I'm glad none of the idiots on this site and others have anything to do with any decisions made at LSU.
