I think it's pretty clear that the new Ohio State President and AD will remove Chris Holtmann...there are some rumors that it will actually be sooner rather than later...but anyways, when this happens, who are the coaching candidates that Ohio State could and should go after? I think there is going to be some major brand name universities opening up this year, so the Buckeyes need to move quick.

The reality is this, Ohio State CAN pay the following coaches more than the school they are currently at. That's just reality. At the very least, they should swing for the fences and inquire about all of the following candidates. With the resources, facilities and local talent base, Ohio State should be a Top 25 program...end of discussion. Here is a list of coaches that i think are truly in play. Remember, money makes the world go round and Ohio State has endless amounts.

Jay Wright - Analyst
Scott Drew - Baylor
Mark Few - Gonzaga
Chris Beard - Ole Miss
Shaka Smart - Marquette
Greg McDermott - Creighton (He was a finalist last time Ohio State HC was open)
Sean Miller - Xavier
Chris Collins - Northwestern
Tony Bennett - Virginia
Randy Bennett - St Mary's
Will Wade - McNeese
John Groce - Akron

Ohio State Alums:

Scoonie Penn - Memphis Grizzlies
Chris Jent - LA Lakers

I would think they would do the opposite of how they did it in football and go the high profile/proven route.
Make Drew say no

Clown comment...What makes you think that Ohio State can't make ANY of them an offer they can't refuse?? Add some actual substance to your argument.

Shooting for the moon are we?

Few is never leaving Gonzaga if he didn't leave for UCLA and Jay Wright isn't coming out of retirement for Ohio State. I also don't see Drew leaving Baylor unless it's for a blue blood (and even that is questionable).

These are your best collegiate options.

Look at mark fews salary and coaching history and try to tell me that he is motivated by money or conference prestige.

You think Ohio state would be the first school to try to talk to mark few?

Jay Wright was making a ton of money and in a great situation and lost his desire to coach.

Scott Drew-eh the dude rules the roost at Baylor has been there forever and once again do you think that OSU would be the first place to make a run at him?

Lastly your ad is Bjork

Phil Jackson and Coach K are available

Why not Bill Self?

Or would that be aiming too low?

If you aren't scared away by the NCAA issues, your best bet from that list of coaches that you can actually get and also would be a home run...

is Sean Miller.

Your AD stinks and a lot of these guys have turned down better jobs before. Maybe you can bag one of the guys at lesser programs like Wade or Randy Bennett.

Maybe Ryan Just for Men Day can coach basketball better than he can football? Michigan is really bad in hoops so he could get a W over them

Jay isn't coming back. So you can drop that one.

The guy isn't ever leaving Philly - he's a Philly guy through and through. He grew up near Philly, grew up a Nova fan, went to college a couple hours from Philly (still in PA), coached under Rollie and is still very actively involved with the university (and attends games all the time...).

He also values his personal time (he's openly said he loves Philly because it's a pro sports town and even though he's a HOF college coach, in the summer he can go to the beach and people leave him alone).
