Might be so candidates or their agents take his calls seriously, know who to contact if they want to push their guy, and know they aren’t wasting their time dealing with him.
But I am not sold in the fact that he is actually as in charge of the search as it has been stated.

It's hard to bring someone back in a lesser role for tons of reasons. Lots of coaches love LSU; that's not good enough of a reson to bring someone here. Since he was HC and won a natty, this board would be calling for him to be the interim after the first loss of every season. O is a good recruiter but the game has changed in that regard as well. But O isn't even good enough to be a coordinator, and you can't have a position coach overshadowing the rest of the staff.

If this is what happens it is a clear good ole boy network move and the final destruction of what Emmert and Saban started when they kicked the good ole boys out in 1999.

I’m ok or have accepted rouse was probably a deal Landry made long ago as he was selling every bit of his soul to be governor long ago. I prefer Dalton but won’t pretend I’ve done extensive research on any of them
I couldn’t get on board with schoyer as AD, the only thing of note he’s done is hire Wade which was a no brainer for them. LSU can and should do much better

because i watched what he did at McNeese and how much the industry embraced him, how much investment he got, how great he was for fundraising in terms of both academics and athletics, how he handled the finances at McNeese and how he is a no BS guy etc
and the plan is to hire a Chancellor and Rousse will focus on the whole system while the Chancellor will focus on the BR campus.
all the BS we complain about on here like holistic admissions, finance issues, DEI BS, not focusing and leaning into LSU's strengths in STEM is exactly the types of things he will fix.
eta- fixed, i had president and chancellor mixed I think. I will have to ask what Wade mainly plans to focus on.

Heath will not be AD, will be associate or assistant or whatever AD. He will eventually be AD though. and he did a little more than just hire wade. He oversaw a complete rebuild of the athletic department after hurricane Laura. He whiffed on the Football hire but I feel it was less of a whiff due to choice, but more timing after the hurricane. he killed it on the Wade hire, got a great deal with wade after year 1 in terms of buyout, did good by listening to wade on who to go after next, did good locking down baseball and softball coaches and the stadium rebuilds....then this last hire of Viator coming back in football will end up being a good hire to get the program back winning and culture back. Also oversaw rebuild of parts of the football stadium.
and Rouse is going to kill it, watch.
