That is such an "in the moment" type hire and I would love it.

LOL. Dude has been a stud coach for over a decade. There is not a single coach on the list that has more success than him.

Are you saying that Norvell, Lanning, Sark, etc., would not be "in the moment" hires?

His only question would be could he adapt to the high-level recruiting. He's going to have to do that anyway in the Big 10 and I have no doubt he could do it.

These development program guys get knocked as if they can't recruit, when it's tough for anyone to recruit where they are.

Given Norvell's buyout being essentially nothing in the world of buyouts, he would be most likely.

Every coach in America knows the act after Saban is one of the worst gigs you can sign up for.

It's not really. As a head coach, you're coming in to a situation with a loaded roster and a program that's setup for success. It's up to you and your coaching skills and what to do with it. Saban left the keys to the Ferrari.

I don’t want Norvell at Bama. He is a beast.

It would be hilarious if they hire Bill O’Brien so he and Milroe can figure out who actually has the last laugh

Bama should hire a guy with the intention of easing their fanbase back to reality. hire any guy on the decline (muschamp, dan mullen, charlie strong, etc) and have him be the fall guy while giving him $7M/year. fanbase is dropped back to reality after 3 years when they realize that winning 11+ games every year was abnormal, fire the guy, and hire your long term option

win-win-win-win for Bama, the coach who will be the fall guy, and the fanbase, and for CFB for the next several years, until the next coach starts to get going

Oh man what an absolute disaster that would be. Might be the worst name on the list.

ETA: Might as well just promote Rees at that point.

maybe a few years ago. Don’t think Bama is touching him unless his stance on NIL/portal has changed.

I think Bama should hire Dooley to be their head coach. While they're at it make it a 10 year deal.

Arizona’s coach not on the list? He has a heck of a background.

This is all a smoke screen for when they hire Coach Prime.

This is what I am hoping for, but it isn't happening. So, I am pulling for The Dabo.

Is he really though? Only OSU, Michigan, and PSU recruit in the Big10.

That depends on how many players and signees jump into the portal. It looks like it could be a significant number.

That all sounds great and coaches are very ego driven, but it's a no win situation because you know no matter what you accomplish, it will never be good enough following Saban. They're in a tough spot, even with the amount of money they are willing to pay someone. Coaches have failed at Alabama pre Saban and never recovered in their coaching careers.
