Rhule got him started at Baylor and has been a major impact on his career. Big time recruiter in the PA and the NE. And as an added price has been passed over for promotion at A&M and with Terry Price there will never get the whole DL much less become a defensive play caller.

I would be real surprised if he doesn’t go.

Nothing is guaranteed of course (we’ve humbly learned that the hard way these past 2 decades in Lincoln) ….but about the best chance in recent memory for a return to smart, disciplined and hard nosed football. Encouraged and excited. GBR.

Solid hire. Nebraska needs to get rebuilt and Matt Rhule is a program builder. Don't think you can ignore his record versus ranked opponents (0-11) at Baylor. Think he's a high floor, low ceiling coach. Big Ten gets reconfigured after next year, too, so it'll be tough to grind out wins for a lot of teams.

Great hire. The guy has proven he can take floundering programs and set them on the right track.

Nebraska can pay him less up front and let the Panthers make up the rest. Once his monies from the Panthers is paid out, then NE can pay him big time.

After what dude did at Baylor, I wouldn’t question what he can do for the Corn Huskers.

Love it! College football is better with Nebraska being good.

Really great hire for Nebraska. I’ll be curious to see if he can make them a regular 9-10 win team that competes for the weak Big 10 West.

This is a stupid post. He didn’t beat any teams that were ranked on the day he beat them at Baylor, but he did beat a team that finished the year ranked. Which one is better?

MR is a great hire for Neb.As an LSU fan I wanted him
or BK as our coach. We did well. This BS about Rhule not
beating any top teams is anger for him leaving your school.
Bottom line is he will turn NEB arround bring dicipline
and structure there.Same thing BK brought to LSU.

Anger? I’m just pointing out it’s a dumb fact. What’s better to beat a team ranked at the time playing or to beat a team that finishes the year ranked? Cause he did the latter.

I think Rhule will do well at Nebraska. I don’t think they win titles, but I think he can get them to 8+ wins which would be big at this point.

Him and the Texas guys he hired at Baylor burned up the roads that first few months. They had to put together a class in short order and had great success.

Damn, it's not often that a hire makes me jealous... But this one does.

Just knowing Matt Rhule was out there and willing to take a college HC job, and we still have Pittman (who I like a lot, but let's face it - he's no Rhule)

If Nebraska can just win all of the games they currently almost-win, they'll have 10 wins every year and win the Big Ten West with ease. I think Rhule will be able to do it

Looks like he poached the Offensive coordinator from South Carolina.
