About as good of a hire as Nebraska could have hoped for. Kudos to their AD.

After what dude did at Baylor, I wouldn’t question what he can do for the Corn Huskers.

Good hire. You’d think after the last decade their fan base would be content with 9-3, which Rhule can likely deliver, but you never know with Nebraska fans

That’s a good hire. I’d have been happy with him at LSU before we landed BK. Nebraska is a tough place to win these days.

Supposedly they’re loaded with NIL money which I don’t doubt I guess the boosters just wanted to wait and see who they’d hire before spending anything

What I don’t know is why Rhule took the job. His Carolina contract has offset language, so it seems like he’s working for Nebraska for free.

Elijah Robinson come on down! Welcome to coaching DL in the B10

Great hire.
Shows how important timing is to coaching hires. If Rhule had not been fired from Carolina, Nebraska would likely have made a significantly worse hire.

He's not a guaranteed home run like many of the college to NFL then back to college hires (Saban, Spurrier, etc) but he's perfect for the slow but more resilient turnaround that Nebraska needs.

What’s the connection? Is Robinson a friend of Rhule? A neighbor ? A former coworker ?

Good hire for Nebraska. After seeing him turn Baylor around, he’s what that program needs.

Great job by Trev. Rhule is already set for life, I am shocked he picked Nebraska. Interested to see how Rhule navigates the NIL since being in the NFL, Nebraska is one of the top schools for NIL money. Getting paid $20k a year for being one of the top 30 players on the team helps makeup for some of the recruiting disadvantages

Excellent hire for NEB

Based on the contract link you posted, if Rhule was smart he’d accept a very low salary (Panthers keep paying him) and try to find a way to get more funds to the NIL fund

Nebraska was never going to bring in top 5 classes every year. But they can win by being the best at turning a high end 3 star or mid level 4 star guy into a 5 star player in his senior year. Rhule is exactly who you hire to do that and Nebraska has the resources to back him in doing that. Nebraska won for decades by being the best player development program and that's what it will take again.

Damn good hire for them.

Looks like Marcus Satterfield has a soft place to land.
