And Miles goes to Michigan. Why is that good? Who do we get to replace Miles?

It seems like the cupboard is a little bare. Not that I don't think changes need to be made, whether that means Miles leaves or what, but is this really a good time for a coach hunt?

if we show up in palo alto with the money, harbaugh would jump in the G5 back to baton rouge with us

I don't know what his name will be, but it'll be the guy who the Rantards will say "is winning with Miles' players".

I posted this in the other thread:

My theory -

1.) Make Saban say NO
2.) Show up in Stanford at JH's doorstep with a solid offer
3.) If rejected, stop by in Dallas and offer Patterson
4.) Fly back north and offer Peterson
5.) If all else fails convince Muschamp.

Someone suggested Del Rio as a fall back option also.

Because Miles is going to drive LSU's football program back into the 90s.

I would put Muschamp on a list.....he still has no HC experience and Harbaugh does. Harbaugh can keep chavis if he has too. He will bring in the offense. He will be hardnosed and play smashmouth but also have enough sense to realize you can outscheme peeps as well. Maybe a job like this is enough to put off his nfl aspirations.

Harbaugh has to be on the top of that list. Even whittingham has proven more than patterson. I would also rather have petersen before Patterson as well. imo.....

My list wasn't in order, but explain how Whittingham or Petersen are more proven than Patterson.

Patterson will bring an elite defense to LSU that won't go away when a coordinator leaves.

You throw the bank at Muschamp.

Ideally, he would keep Wilson on staff, and promote Gonzales to OC.

How is the cupboad bare? Name coachs that has accepted another college job that we would have wanted.

I got Brian Kelly and that's it.

Why the love for Muschamp? Let's get a proven HC like Patterson, Harbaugh, Peterson...no more experiments...

Perhaps not, but the point is LSU would have a plethora of potential candidates.

And when you start dangling dollars in the sum of $3.0 million to $3.5 million per season, I promise that every coach mentioned above would seriously consider LSU as his next destination.

He would for the right opportunity. He is being very selective, which he should.

Because he is an up and comer that has worked at LSU and would bring a great defensive mindset to LSU.

I prefer some of the other names on the list, but if it came to Muschamp, I'd take our chances for LSU's future program with him over Miles this very second.

No he hasn't. Urban had already built that program up, and had won a BCS bowl before Whittingham.

TCU had never sniffed a BCS game before Patterson. Franchione had TCU going in the right direction, but Patterson has elevated that program.
