I think what oklahoma state or arkansas runs now is a good bet to where i think we are going.
These two aren't that similar, imo. Leach would be closer to what Oklahoma State did.

i just dont see the big difference in 'how we've recruited' lately as it pertains to spread vs. pro-style

no need to get cranky
but your confusing spread with "spread option"
there is no running qb in leech's system
AIR RAID But utilizes running backs and tight ends as well
This is what I was thinking as well....Leach's system would work fine....it was a run and gun, not spread option.

Another poster a few days ago said something like "Leach with his hands on our talent would be like a pyromaniac in a firework stand.
Dude would set it off.
Dude would set it off.

Yeah except his offense is completely opposite to what miles wants to run

this is how I feel too. that's why I am doubting he would be the kind of guy that Miles would seek out
Actually I feel like this is EXACTLY the kind of guy MIles would seek out!

Leach likes to throw 50 times a game
Miles likes to run 50 times a game

LSU has recruited offensive linemen and RBs that fit in a physical running game. Leach doesn't exactly do that.
to be fair
in 2008 when TTech hit its peak, their OL avg something like 6-5, 330 lbs and he had 2 backs rush over 900 yards

Leach's offense runs the ball quite a bit too. Look Leach is an offensive genius. He will tailor his offense to the talent at the school.

And Leach ran an entirely different type of spread, in that he's never used a mobile QB. It's not the spread Urban Meyer or Rich Rodriquez has used. It's tied more closely to what Hal Mumme used at Kentucky in the 90s.

No doubt he would only be here for a year

you're right, 700 yards. he typically had a guy over 900 late in his tenure there
Posted on 1/14/11 at 8:33 am to SlowFlowPro
Running backs in Leach's offense also catch the ball a lot more than we are used to...

Not sure about Ford, but Ware has shown that he has good receiving skills out of the backfield so he definitely would fit well.

I'm leary about any spread offense that doesn't involve some element of physicality.
