I don't think it required lengthy planning. It's really more of common sense. LSU had a really good defense this season led by a DC Lane has seen in the SEC for multiple years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Also, Frank and Corey are seen as stalwarts of Louisiana HS recruiting. You keep those guys on staff. Particularly, when the offensive staff you're bringing over is not going to have deep LA ties.
The only question is does Bake get HC interest from other schools

If Coach O comes, I don't think that would conflict with Peoples. Coach O with the DT's and Peoples with the ends

I don't see Baker leaving LSU for Florida's DC role....if y'all offered him the HC job then sure but not the same role.

I’m glad to hear it.
If we were to lose him to Tulane, or anywhere else, because he was offered a head coaching position, I’d obviously understand; otherwise, it’d be a shame to send him on his way.

You really may be dumber than I even thought. You just got played like an absolute fool for Kiffin. You are settling for a coach who has a similar rise to the coach you just fired, and now you sit on here and think Florida will hire Baker away from LSU???

Does anyone else think Baker coaches defense the way Kiffin coaches offense? Both are really aggressive, overly aggressive sometimes, but their wins outweigh their losses so it works. The two of them together seems like a really good fit.
