Got to be a record? Sports radio was telling me he was the fourth-best coach in the SEC.

That’s what happens when you flirt with other job openings instead of doing the job you’re supposed to be doing. And then calling two timeouts on a two point conversion ensuring that you won’t get the ball back without an onside kick.

He has done more damage to his reputation the last 2 weeks than any coach I can think of in recent years

When they called b2b TOs I figured they were screwed.
Then he calls a shovel pass after all that? Yikes.

I don’t understand programs looking to hire him. He’s not awful, but he’s also not a top 10 coach that should be in charge of a blue blood. He’s failed at at Tennessee and USC already. Failed in the NFL. The biggest red flag is that he hasn’t stayed in one spot more than 2 years in his entire coaching career.

No thanks. He’s a perfect fit for a middle of the road P5 program like Ole Miss.

The season win total this season in Vegas for Ole Miss was 7.5 games. They won 8.

We started 7-0 and ended 1-4. While loosing to two teams who out coached us with less talent.

On paper, in a rebuilding year, 8-4 is a good year. But how this season played out is not good.

ESPN ticker saying Lane expects to return to Ole Miss even if Auburn offers. Not saying that means anything. Just curious about it.

8-4 lacked any kind of a signature win, it was the bare minimum with that schedule.

If jimmy gets him 10+mil a year after that…the man is a true wizard

Lane is an elite OC, but he's a meh HC

His best work of his career is being Carroll and Saban's OC

What's his best HC job? 2011 USC? 2021 Ole Miss?

8-4 at ole miss is still good. Especially in a rebuilding year there. His major problem is not being able to put a decent to above average defense on the field. Think alot of that is talent and NIL related. I do think he could be a tad better for that recent at w better program.

To be fair, that was a great play by the defender. If his hand was 2 inches shorter, they convert… And at least it wasn’t the ol’ roll everybody to the right and dump it to the fullback that has to make an awkward move to catch it and turn around and dodge somebody to get in without going out of bounds play that everybody seems to want to run on the goal line.

It would be very Auburn to hire this dude.

Is he, though? His first 15 script is usually pretty good. His in-game adjustments are usually non-existent.

I don’t give him that much credit for the offenses at USC and Alabama with a bunch of 5-stars. And Norm Chow was the OC for a good part of his first stint at USC. He’s a good coach for Ole Miss but that’s really his true weight class.

Hot in the fans minds. Anyone with a lick of sense would wait until they played a single decent team. Their first 7 games were a joke.

Same. I’ve been saying it for a couple of weeks. Even had a fellow LSU fan try to argue that “smart people don’t make conclusions based on one game.”

I tried telling the idiot Kiffin hasn’t won shite. My criticism of him is based on his average body of work as a head coach. He’s decent but so far from elite it’s laughable reading all the handwringing about what he’s gonna do as if he’s something more than he’s proven himself to be yet again.
