You mean the play that would have worked if not for a great play by the defender?

The play call wasn't the problem. The problem was calling timeouts and not being ready to go with a 2 point play.

The guy is still a really good coach. Don't know what yall expect anyone to do at ole miss.

Ding, ding, ding, ding.

I’ll never understand why he didn’t take over play-calling, because it’s obvious that he dropped the ball on their OC hire. Weiss jr can’t run a passing game to save his life.

Take a lesson from Sun Belt Billy- bringing your G5 buddies up the ladder is rarely a good call if they haven’t already cut it in the P5 before.

Look man if auburn wants to hire another guy who runs a gimmicky offense that is ineffective against good defenses and who has yet to show he can be as effective as the guy they just fired two years ago……

Well, as an LSU fan I’ll just laugh and say thanks.

I believe auburn could do better. I’m just glad they don’t seem to think they can.

Hire someone better than Weiss Jr to run your offense after setting records with a much better OC the year before. That’s the same anywhere in the SEC. We have Kelly now because O couldn’t handle business in that department.

I said that. Calling 2 TOs was a bad move, IMO. They had all the momentum. And sorry I'm just not a fan of the shovel pass. Actually seen if fail around the goal line more this season than succeed.

He's a good coach, but I still don't fully trust him. I certainly don't hate Kiffin.

8-4 looks good on paper for ole miss but they beat nobody. 0 top 25 wins. They play vandy every year. 9-3 should be their floor.

what guy that has been mentioned could be better then kiffin?

The guy doesn't have a gimmicky offense. They like to run the ball and run play action. People just like to assume because they go fast that means its a gimmick. He has to be more creative due to not having the same talent as the big boys in the league which will always be the case for Ole Miss. No one talked about his offense at Bama being gimmicky.

The only reason people are talking about ole miss having a disappointing season is because of the expectations that Lane built.

Basically this, he’s good for 8 wins annually, which is terrific in this day and age in the SEC for an Ole Miss program.

Questionable to say the least.

I love that the Lane Train has slowed down a bit. Too much hype going on.

We started 7-0 and ended 1-4. While loosing to two teams who out coached us with less talent. On paper, in a rebuilding year, 8-4 is a good year. But how this season played out is not good.

Sad ending to your season. No excuse for not being 10-2.

There’s only so many wins to go around in the SEC

Someone mentioned Ole Miss’s floor being 9-3. Let’s assume losses to LSU, Alabama, and Auburn. For them to still go 9-3 that would require beating Arkansas, Miss State, and Texas A&M every year, as well as whomever they schedule out of conference and whomever the SEC East throws up against them every year, with odds being that they get one of Georgia, Florida, or (now) Tennessee every year
