why are teams in such a rush to hire a new head coach? So McDaniels gets to choose between the niners and the chargers at this point?

So these teams refused to wait until the playoffs were over to maybe get a successful coordinator? makes sense.

The guy is probably going to flop big time. Once things start going downhill just a little bit nobody is going to care what this guy has to say. Even if he is smart enough for the job.

He was 15 years old when Brees was a rookie.

They're not going to respect this kid.

Someone should have said the Redskins. All I saw was Washington, and as a college football fan on a college football message board I made an assumption.

My bad

The Rams need some change and new direction. Hopefully this young man can do that. The man is making a living learning his profession. He has succeeded so far and no reason to doubt he can continue. I am an old fart who likes the young blood.

Wade Phillips will be the DC.

Wade has been coaching in the NFL longer than McVay has been alive.

That is a great hire for a team loaded with arguably the best young defensive nucleus in the league.

yeah, they've got a better front seven than most teams that's for sure.

they'll most likely be a much tougher out this year. He'll bump them up several notches in defensive categories for sure. He's pretty much done that everywhere he's been the last several years.

From one extreme to the other. I don't think it's necessarily a bad decision. Better than getting another failed NFL coach.

The Wade phillips hire makes this looks OK. McVay has done great with Cousins, so he might help develop Goff into something decent.
