Meh. He had been here for 9 years and left the program in a much better spot than it was in before he got here. Wish him the best.

I think the State fans that said Mullen would never leave are hiding and the others knew it would happen. Mullen is solid hire but not the guy most fans wanted . Hopefully Stricklin in right about Mullen. If Mullen turns out to be a top 5 coach then Stricklin did good . I feel bad for the State fans that didn’t have their heads up their rears .

Sounds like Stricklin didn't go after DM until he expressed interest in the UT job. I don't think you can blame him. He has to do what's best for his current employer and he just hired a good coach out from under his division rivals.

What do you want MSU fans to do?
MSU is in a good spot to hire a young up and coming coach. Maybe go after Tee Martin if they believe in him. Or maybe Norvell or Mike MacIntyre.
I’m wondering if they’d go after someone like Sumlin.
This whole coaching carousel this year is damn interesting.

Meh, if Mullen had left us in shitty shape I would be pretty upset but we are a pretty attractive option for an up and coming coach.
Who knows...maybe someone young wins and decides to stay a while like Mullen did.

Jeremy Pruitt is the top target. Cohen will hire a hard arse type coach to go along with his ego.

I don't see anybody laying down. I'm more excited about where we're going than where we've been. I think Mullen had hit his ceiling with us. The guy is good at what he is good at but he does have certain limitations.
There will be plenty of trash talking come September. Hopefully we bring in somebody who has no second thoughts about hanging 70 on UF if we get the chance to.
