I don’t understand why The MSU fans are mad at Stricklin. Mullen was probably going to UTk before Florida came calling anyway.

Jeremy Pruitt is the top target. Cohen will hire a hard arse type coach to go along with his ego.

And when they hire Pruitt they'll have a better coach than UT has had since Fulmer was pushed out.

Not really anything they can DO, buy just laying down and pretending it didn't happen looks weak. I'd at least expect some trash talking or something. The silence just seems like a prison punk taking what he's given.

IMO, state was never winning a championship with Mullen. Maybe they have thought this day would come for a while. However, he did great for the program, he left it better than he found it. I would think a lot of state fans recognize this, and are excited about the future, having an elevated status from the time of their last coaching search.

I said before that I can understand why Mullen would want to leave State, but I am upset that he lied to the fans and did not even tell the players he was leaving. Then literally 5 minutes after Florida broke the announcement, his twitter profile is updated a Florida banner and a profile picture of him kissing Tebow.

There is definitely a difference between replacing a guy leaving because he has had success vs. trying to find somebody to step into a dumpster fire after you've fired the last guy. Don't know that we've ever been in this position before.

Doesn't matter because the answer to:

hat’s from Stricklin’s email announcing the hire. I don’t think he wanted to poach from MSU, but once Kelly turned them down he had to do it.

No one from State should be mad at either Stricklin or Merlins. This was 100% a business decision.

If you check my post history, I've said all along that Merlins is who UF should have hired from the get go.

Best coach the Gators could get who has both coached and recruited in the SEC.

Why did they let him go? Money talks, BS walks.

Wasn't a money issue, he was ready to move on to new challenges. Which is why the buyout was only 500k and why we were prepared to make a new hire on such a quick turnaround.

Will be interesting to see if he can finally get it done against good teams. Part of me thinks he may have hung around had we won the Bama game, just because we have the best roster we've ever had returning next year. But the open market this year would have made it tough for him to stay I think, he wanted to move and this was a great year for him to do it.

Crazy random fact of the day is State has only had 1 bad coach in the last 3 decades. Really a very stable job, fans are good to you and everyone is dedicated to the university.

Maybe, maybe not. He had told all the players and coaches he was staying a day or so before all this came out, that's why they were all so upset. Cohen made a huge commitment and offer that would have made it hard to leave, he had a legitimate decision to make.
