At this point how different would the eventual result be if we hired Ponamsky to be OC? Let's cut out the middle man of all this silliness.

And besides, he kinda deserves to be hit by a piss balloon on the sidelines.

It's kinda sad but outside of the bama game Stevie E has probably been our best playcaller since Jimbo. Cam and tWizard had their moments but the bad often outweighed the good.

Hard to call the fan base paranoid or overdramatic when the thing everyone feared most has akrwady happened

Plenty of people are optimistic about the EO hiring and understand the first 2 guys weren't interested.

People who are happy with the O hiring are basing their assessment on emotions. Certainly not his record.
Current staff cannot be considered an objective upgrade over Miles without a big splash at OC

You better get used to it man. I ain't shutting up until O and alleva prove me wrong...which equals an NC.

O supporters have be the loudest, most emotional SOB's through this entire process

Some are basing it on the fact they know someone can learn over the course of time. Of course he wasn't hired based on his ole miss record but other factors such as how he did interim at USC and LSU certainly were bigger factors than his record at ole miss.

What would be evidence of failure to you? Do you have some sort of boundaries or does LSU have to descend to the levels of year 3 at Ole Miss first?

I've noticed some of the people in here talking shite are the same ones who wanted to hire the guy who just finished sixth in the AAC to lead the LSU program. They were not very smart to begin with and seem to be getting dumber by the day.

This. The most likely trajectory is down. Question is, how long does it take, and when do O supporters give up? When do the excuses stop?

3 straight season of 6-6 or worse?

My question is why are people bashing him when he has been on the job for less than a week?

He will be able to hire his own people and run his own system. The negativity is ridiculous.

Why should someone who pulls for LSU give up? Do you wish everyone was a suck-arse fan like you and pulled against the current coach and program?

It's not bashing when all metrics saying O is not fit for this job. He's a disaster of a hire and doesn't deserve a chance, but he got it. Ok. The problem: He HAS to make the playoffs in Year 1 or he's no better than Miles. The whole point is continuity, in getting the best OCs, etc. If his OC plan blows up, that's strike one. If he doesn't improve the team immediately by hiring the best (consistency) then yeah that's a huge problem.

If "the plan" starts to unravel before the season, that's a bigger problem.

Well that's up for debate now right?

Who's giving up? I think that's why many people are mad. That's not giving up, that's staying involved.

Being critical of O and the administration and this process is not being a "suck arse" fan. That's incorrect.

What was his great accomplishment as our interim to cause us to ignore his record? Please tell me.
What was his signature win? Losing to Florida at home?

I expect 10-11 win seasons and to compete for sec titles and playoff berths. Basically if he has a stretch like the last 4-5 years he should be fired.
