No. But judging by his career results, he would have won substantially more games than Orgeron.

Those were really bad football teams that we should curb stomp given the talent this team had.

And they did that. Like I've said, what was one of the main beefs people had against Miles? He would play down to competition and let teams hang around.

Orgeron crushed them. At least that's a start.

Let's not pretend that having some success as an interim coach two times is the same thing as being a permanent head coach. You're surely smarter than that. Again, i give him credit for keeping the ship afloat, but taking the keys and steering it permanently is a different game.

Some success? Kiffin was fired after going 4-7 his last 11 games. Coach O took over the team after four games into the season and went 6-2. He did better than the permanent head coach with the same exact team. Is that not success?

He took over LSU and under his watch and a TE's coach as OC broke multiple all-time LSU offensive records. Not success?

Are you sure he won't be able to take the keys and steer the program permanently? Sounds like you arguing against him for some weird reason and want him to fail.

Well Houston Nutt took over in 2008 after O went 0-8 in the SEC in 2007 and won 9 games, including the Cotton Bowl... So it's not out of the realm of possibility

I'm not sure of it, but I have my (very) justified doubts.

With O's developed recruits. O had 3 years so his guys would have been juniors when he was fired.

We can say that Miles got lucky with Sabans recruits but can't for Nutt?

You are definitely full of shite. You state your BS as being some kind of fact. Downward trajectory, 6-6 for 3 straight seasons, now you are stating he has 0% chance of making the playoffs. How's your team Bama going to do next season? Saban going to win it all again?

Just reading it like I see it.

quote:

Playoffs or fired huh? How many teams make the playoffs each year?

Well Les is fired because we should have been in the playoffs in at least 2 or 3 of the last 4 seasons. If we are being sold consistency, then we should expect consistency. Right?

quote:

You just make up shite as you go along don't you? You can look at someone's history at Ole Miss and state as fact that his ceiling is 9-3? How about him going 11-4 in his last two HC jobs? How about 5 wins this year with a TE's coach running the offense?

Can you do math? 7-5 is a generous expectation. O's 21-29 record over 5 coaching stops means for every 4 wins, he has 5 losses on average. He is, historically a sub .500 coach. I am looking at his entire career, not just limiting it to his two best jobs like you want to do.

quote:

Stating your imaginary bullshite as fact again. It's not pessimistic to create shite to belittle the LSU head coach? Damn sure isn't being optimistic. May not be emotional, but that is about all you can say for your bullshite statements.

So you think, for someone who has never been an elite coach on either side of the ball, meaning OC/DC, that he will somehow uncover some coaching ability that puts him in the Meyer, Saban, Harbaugh, group?

Really?

quote:

I am. The fact is he is 11-4 in his last two coaching stints. LSU played better and was much better offensively with him running the team, even with a TE's coach as OC. Those are facts. What are your facts again? Care to pull some more bullshite out of thin air and then try to say you're not pessimistic and the shite you just stated is somehow fact?

Again, you're just cherry picking and making incorrect assumptions. Being a Head Coach is far different than being an "Interim Coach."

You live in some kind of fantasy world. I have never seen anyone make up total and utter bullshite like you do.

What is clearly a problem? If Coach O wins there is no fricking problem. That will mean you are in here making up shite and being depressed for nothing.

We are talking about Ole Miss they haven't won an sec title since most of us have been alive and we're judging the man solely on failing at a place with a history of failing...I will choose to think LSU offers much more in terms of providing coaches with opportunities for success than ole miss

Where did I say that Nutt didn't benefit from O's recruits? My point is that Nutt, a fairly mediocre coach by most people's measure, took the very same players (basically) that O went 0-8 with and went 5-3 and won the Cotton Bowl. Does that not raise at least a tiny red flag for you?

So hiring a coach with a bad record, that no other major school would consider, is not a problem?

Nonsense

Getting blown out at home by your crosstown rival was the reason.

If Orgeron was thought of as a good head coach he wouldn't have been snubbed by the likes of Syracuse.

I watched the Bama game and the Fla game. More than a week since then

Wasn't Bama his fourth game as coach of LSU? How long had Bama's staff been intact? Florida was his sixth game and LSU executed just fine in every phase except the scoreboard. Are you sure you watched the right game? UF?

quote:

And that's what he did at Ole Miss, and we saw the results

Yeah, a decade ago.

quote:

Then you need to re-think your support of Ogreron. Because when he was offered a previous job at LSU, he chose Tenn. Then he talked LSU recruits into stiffing us on signing day, leaving us short. So he claimed to pull for LSU, and gave up??

You don't have to pull for him or LSU. Seems like you have personal reasons not to. Good luck

Coach O's history, record, apparent capabilities. All a problem.

Well of course not, but history says that won't happen when he has full control over a problem. When he's making the day to day decisions, hirings, etc.

Why do you keep saying this? All of us are making shite up. Your positivity has no basis in fact or current events. Mine doesn't either, hence why looking at actual evidence, the past, is important. That's something that you are avoiding. O had a very Miles-like end to the season and worked the media to get the job. Again, none of that is comforting for the future, but it's all we have to go on.

Meanwhile a national championship coach is available for hire and nobody has hired him. How can that be? Oh maybe some coaches aren't a good fit for some programs

Who did you want to be the head coach? Jimbo and Herman were not coming to LSU. Did you expect Saban to be the new head coach at LSU?

Yep. Only 3 other people that coach college football in the entire world. That's it. Shame we couldn't get either of those 3 since they're literally the only other college football coaches in the world. O ain't a bad consolation after all - HE TALKS LIKE US!
