We’ve seen this before. I like Napier, and I think he could be great. Definitely a better hire than O. But understand the way some of the media works and their intentions. That’s all I’m saying.

Its Coach O part 2. The political machine that creates the hellishly corrupt state of Louisiana also chooses the football coach.

Go throw another parade for Edwin Edwards.

The local guys are going to push for a guy like Napier because they already have a relationship with him and they would get access.

A guy like Fickell for instance they have no relationship at all and would have to try and establish one.

Slime ball LA politics.. Pretty much the reason the state as a whole is in the position it's in.

It’s a lot different when the person they are campaigning isn’t already inside the building and in the ear of our AD every morning and creating a coordinated media campaign with your drunk boat captain assistant pulling every local string there is

I guess there are some similarities, but IMO this is a completely different deal than O

Let’s not pretend like other schools haven’t been interested in Napier. Even if you dismiss the rumors that he was offered State, USCe, Auburn, at a minimum those schools were definitely considering him strongly.

Napier is widely looked at as one of the up-and-comers in CFB…not just by us locally in the state, but by many of the national guys that analyze this kind of stuff

This isn’t a “give the guy to the Louisiana hometown Cajun, one of us” situation. He actually is regarded as a very good coach.

Just curious how you clarify this statement. Explain how Napier compares to O.

It’s very well known kiffin was campaigning for himself. And I believe that was probably shut down and it’s on to the next.

Disagree.

Is nothing like Coach O. Napier isn't even attached to the program.

I think Napier would be a winner, but not sure about championship level.

looks like he goes with a standard head shave with a guard. I'm waiting for the take that he does this because he doesn't have time for stuff like haircuts. Footbaw!

I’m not saying it’s exactly like the O situation. I’m saying Jordy is acting like he was then. And he was doing it for kiffin a couple weeks ago. He wants that access.

He's only been in the state for 3 years

It's nothing like the O, "one of us", campaign.

You’re exactly right in that Napier would be Orgeron 2.0. We’ll be looking for a new coach in 3 years and have fallen even further behind if Napier is hired. That said, I doubt that he is seriously considered unless nobody else wants the job.

What'd they say after the Tennessee/Ole Miss game that they admin didn't want anything to do with his antics?

It wasn't ever about being attached to the program, it was about the Louisiana connection. "HES ONE OF US!" wasn't referencing LSU, it was referring to people from the state. Coach O was never considered an LSU guy until he wanted the job and then everyone jumped on the train of sentimentality like they are with Napier.
