Among the Indiana coaching candidates to replace Tom Allen: South Alabama's Kane Wommack, Bama OC Tommy Rees, Ohio State OL coach Justin Frye, and a big wildcard candidate who has support with some key IU folks: Jon Gruden.

With all the nonsense going on at A&M, I'd forgotten it was Jon Gruden season again.

Boy wouldn’t that be some shite? Tennessee went through like 3 coaching hires in a row clamoring for Gruden and how he would come because he was a grad assistant there when even rainbows were in black and white and now he’s, supposedly, emerging as a legitimate candidate for HC at a basketball school.

Not gonna be as big a name as some of the others but

quote:

South Alabama's Kane Wommack

This should be the guy. Previous DC at IU, and has taken South Alabama to bowl eligibility 2 of his 3 seasons. They hadn’t made a bowl in the previous 4 seasons, and he’s a good defensive mind.

He’ll probably hold out for a better job

I would be stunned if any major public university admin okays hiring Gruden after what happened. It would be awesome, but very hard to see

Don’t forget Arkansas tried to go after him after Petrino. Arkansas’ apparent interest caught fire on the boards, leading to: ”Hey Grude”

Obviously a troll but per many different NFL sources, he's going to be receiving many millions of dollars from his suit against Goodell & the League. Unless Hilliary has him killed, too.

Don't forget that years later after he got pushed out of Vegas that he said he'd be interested in the Arkansas job in the nil era.

Yes he did. Gruden is to the pointbof deaparation that he'd probably coach at a DII school of they'd give him a chance.

He'll never go back to the NFL because they have blackballed him, but he will take a college job, and that what pieole don't understand now.

Go watch that Arkansas TD club appewenece and it was clear he would go to college. His main issue he said before was that he'd put a program on probation in no time. Now, it's all legal, so he doesnt care. He just wants to go sowewhere that has good NIL.

Arkansas would actually be a really good fit for him now. So would a place like Indiana or anywhere in the Midwest since he is an Ohio guy.

He would also be good in the SEC because of all his Florida ties and coaching networking.
