go look at what has occurred with his coaching staff since he's been at FSU and report back

seriously
I have a bit. What am I looking for specifically? Is it all about pay? Why can't FSU put together an SEC-caliber staff with an SEC-caliber budget? Is that on Jimbo, the AD, both, neither? Did all the coaches who left get better pay, or did some just not like working with the man?

The story seems to be that he was given a decent budget, but spent it on position coaches in lieu of top coordinators. On offense, that kind of makes some sense. On defense, it makes zero sense.

Meyer went 8-5 his last season at UF
4 of his 5 losses were to ranked teams, and the fifth loss was to a good, underrated State team. Plus it's hard to fault the man for an off year considering his health issues at the time.

It's as simple as FSU doesn't pay its assistants what the competition is willing to offer.

That's how it looks to me. Do you think he has learned from his mistakes?

Comparing Jimbo to Miles is asinine. Good lord. I don't even know where to begin.
As far as the on-field product and results, they look very similar. The main difference is the side of the ball that typically struggles. They have both consistently struggled to put away mediocre to bad teams.

I love that everyone keeps blaming this on FSU and their top 10 staff budget rather than blaming Jimbo.

Fisher did everything in his power besides sucking off Pruitt to stay. He left, coming off of a NC, because of money. Plain and simple. And FSU wouldn't pony up a minimal amount to keep him around.

There's decent budgets and then there's LSU budgets-highest in CFB.

I'm telling y'all, this season is on FSU DC, Kelly. They give up 484 yards a game and total defense is ranked 94th! 94th!

Meanwhile the offense averages close to 38 a game, I believe. Jimbo is a solid HC and a phenomenal offensive mind. LSU would get him a top notch DC as they did for so many years with Miles.

Do you not know anything about how the Pruitt deal went down? I mean, honestly, if you're going to vehemently argue on the coaching board you need to be at least clued in to what has transpired. Google around a bit, idk. Fisher has lobbied for more money for coordinators for a while now.

He didn't choose to let Pruitt go because he wanted to pay position coaches more. That's hysterically false.

The deal Kelly got this year likely would have been enough to keep Pruitt back in 2014, even. The FSU AD has even taken salary increases while mismanaging the defense coordinator negotiations. It's a shite show.

They were forced to give Kelly a pay raise of 250k to keep him from going to AU, after letting Pruitt, who won a NC, walk. Now they have barely a top 100 defense. If you don't think that frustrates a HC...

Same guy had a top 10 scoring defense last year. What changed?

Miles' offense put up more points than Jimbo's last year.

Are you really trying to blame Jimbo's current struggles on something that went down over 2 years ago?

Looks to me like they're throwing around as much money as every other school that's trying to win championships. Why hasn't he fixed defensive issues for over two years?

Pruitt left because of sleeping with too many coeds.

Craig left because of money.

Jimbo has plenty of money to put together a top coaching staff. The issue was promoting Kelly to DC when he should have never been a DC to begin with.

Be prepared, you can't possibly know as much about the FSU situation as the expert.

If money was in place, why did Jimbo settle for promoting someone already on the staff?

Jimbo is "easier to get" and probably easier to fire too in 3-4 years like Miles.

Don't go throwing stuff like that around. The posters here said FSU doesn't spend on assistants. Trust them not the actual facts

I think that Jimbo will be who we get in the end. I think Coach O will lose to Saban plus possibly drop another game and the luster he has right now will quickly fade... Herman will go to Texas and we'll land Jimbo... of course the LSU honchos will proclaim that he was the #1 target all along.

Why did Miles stick with Cam?
