re: Jimbo has LSU talent at FSU but can't win the ACC

If you want Jimbo why did you fire Miles? Miles could occasionally win big with a super star QB too.
In 12 years Miles did not recruit a single HS QB that turned into a decent QB. NOT ONE. Even the guys that left were complete stiffs. Yeah, he went 11-2 and finished #3 with Russell in 2006 and won the NC with Flynn. Who was the OC that recruited, signed and developed those guys? The same guy that preferred EJ Manuel and made him a first round draft pick over Jordon Jefferson.

I don't have a problem with O being coach because I think he's smart enough to bring talented minds to LSU for offense. And I do recognize that it's a gamble. Would I rather have Fisher or Herman? Of course, but I'm not going to be foolish enough to think that hiring O would kill the program.
ETA: I'm saying if somehow for whatever reason we can't get a great coach (highly unlikely), I think we will still be in good shape.

He won the ACC 3 out of 6 years as HC at FSU.

I don't think O would send us back to the 90s
but I also don't think O is going to win a National Title
plus, LSU can just flat out do better

His plan at Ole Miss was Kiffin or bust
and he busted
He has said he wants to run a pro style offense, but who woudl be the best pro style OC we could go get?

Then you're being reasonable, which is more than we can say for the rest of the board. It's either O is the guy or the beginning of the end for the LSU program.

also, saban must have been a moron to have jimbo as his OC for 5 years too! That dumbass helped us win 2 seccg and a natty plus developed tons of QB's. gave us record breaking Offenses in 2001 and 2003. what a moron!
yup! definitley les miles junior.

He went two straight regular seasons undefeated
He doesn't have our defense this season and he's like undefeated vs the sec west ?

The ACC actually two top 5 top 10 teams too
FSU has a great safety but they don't have near the talent on D as LSU or the level of DC

I really don't think it's all about the Bama game.
It certainly didn't help his cause by any means, and had we won there would probably be a lot more support for him which is somewhat silly cause that would mean a single game (where anything could happen/crazy fluke plays/injuries/weather/etc) would be deciding on the future of the LSU football program.
Yes of course proving to win big games and beating Saban would be massive, I just think that LSU (Alleva and other people with input) should take every candidate that's realistic, and make a list. Start with Option A, and basically make a mini resume. Coaching record, strength such as Offense or Defense, noteworthy things such as division/conference/national championships, players drafted, in Jimbo's case list all the QBs he has coached in his career, recruiting reputation....basically anything noteworthy.
Even if if this list means a full page per candidate. List them as option A, B, C and take emotion out of it. Narrow it down to 2-3 people then you can factor in things like being from Louisiana and relating to the fan base
Would love for a stickied thread on this board where any reasonable/realistic option would all be broken down in the same post/thread.

Hasn't he won the ACC multiple times including 3 of the last 4 seasons? Or are you implying he would be a total disaster at LSU unless he won it every single year?
Not with 3 conference losses in 2015 and 3 in 2016.

ETA: I checked your post history. You like O if he wins out over Fisher. You might want to look at O's conference record...
