your premise is a huge generalization. I believe (granted I don't have knowledge in depth) he is rebuilding his OL and has a freshman QB. that situation happens to everyone at times. also, his defense isn't great this year (don't know if it's the DC or what).

nevertheless, I believe the man would do a very good job at LSU. he will be adored and loathed by the LSU fanbase.

every coach has flaws. I really think Saban and Meyer have warped people expectations as to what is realistic.

That's how i feel about Petrino.

i forget that we are searching for the perfect coach

which obviously makes sense as to why alot want O to be retained.

Louisville and North Carolina don't have equal talent as FSU.

It think this is not what the point is, it's more of why is FSU dropping 3 games a year the last two years..... especially to teams with "inferior" talent. It's a legitimate question. It might be a combination of poor recruiting choices, poor coaching choices, and his personal life being turned upside down with his wife cheating on him. Regardless, the question should be asked.

This is exactly my point. Thank you for saying it way better than I did!

We just fired a coach for losing 3-4 games a year and now we're getting excited about another coach with a similar resume. I just don't get all the love.

Louisville does have a special player at QB and are ranked #3 but both of those teams do have talent. This just in, the team with the most talent doesn't win every single time or do you think Ole Miss has equal talent to Bama?

If you think the coach will never, ever lose to a team with "lesser" talent then you are expecting him to be perfect. There are degrees of "lesser" talent. UNC was 11-3 last years, so they are a good team. They also lost to GT on a fluke play last year. I'm not a Jimbo or bust guy, but he's clearly a top candidate and a very good coach.

Do the people that knock Jimbo's resume but support O for coach not realize how stupid that sounds?

Do the people who knock the people who knock Jimbo Fisher realize that we may not want O either?

We didn't think the ACC was so weak when we lost a bowl game to Clemson.

Yep and he was a 3 star. Louisville has not had a higher ranked recruiting class above 5th in the ACC the last 3 years. So either they are finding 2 and 3 stars that underrated or they develop the hell out of them. Same can be said for NC and Houston and Georgia Tech.

And it's not that you don't expect those teams to slip in and steal one here and there; because it happens sure.

The problem is this, if he loses 3 games per year two years in a row where he has equal or more talent......... most of the people pandering for him now will be wanting to lynch him.

Yep. We loved bowl games when Les looked unbeatable in them. When we started losing them routinely, not so much.

ACC is def getting stronger imo.. CLemson/FSU/Miami/North Carolina/VA Tech all are getting stronger..

That's why Bobby Petrino would be my #1 choice

that's too short of a time frame. 2 of the games he's lost were to Clemson who does have equal talent and their special player at QB. They also lost the Peach Bowl last year. Its hard to get up for a Peach Bowl against Houston when you;ve been in the NC game and playoff, that's not an excuse, it's rreality, happens to a lot of teams (see Bama vs Utah and OU, LSU v Clemson)

I don't follow FSU close enough to know the gory details of this season, injuries, attrition to the NFL, bad assistants since Pruitt left, but the program has done much better under Fisher than the previous decade that's more important to me than this year and last.

Or had good players. So, I guess that leaves...no one? Might as well just give it to Ed O then, after all he loves LSU and he talks Yaw Yaw!
