All of this.

These 10 year deals are just becoming the standard now I guess

This needs to be stickied for all the workers complaining about the 15 million

I don't see how it's sustainable, but yeah.

I think this is a good deal and lets spend the rest of the money on a good OC.
I would've thought at least $110.
This tells me it wasn't about squeezing another $2-3 million a year out of LSU but wanting to get to the SEC with SEC talent and win a title. He could've easily stayed at the cush ND job for another 10 yrs with no threat of being fired if he got 8-9 wins/yr.
Instead he wants to jump into the SEC and get the talent required to win a title.

I have no problem with incentives. You have to earn those with success!!

Wasn't the women's hoops coach at ND making more base salary than Kelly?
Seems I read that somewhere not long ago. He was making something like just over 2 mil a year in base salary. But it was speculated that he really made a lot more than that from endorsements and some type of bonus structure.

Yeah they are private so he makes a lot more than what they say on paper. Estimated around 7-8 mil

He was making between 5 and 6.

That tells me he wants to be here.

Pretty shocking that ND wouldn’t match a contract that a school like Michigan State gave out to Mel Tucker. I have to imagine they did match but the overall LSU package was most attractive.
He didn't even ask them to match i don't believe. I don't think they even knew about it.

We hired BK for the same price and terms as Mel Tucker and Jimbo. That’s quite a win.
I generally dgaf about a coach's salary, but it was pretty funny to see fans melt over the $15m number. Getting this dude at $9.5 is kind of hilarious in this context.
Woodward is such a

Yep.
Man, I think this dude is coming in here ready to wreck fricking shop and carve out a legacy that all of CFB will remember, not just one school.
Nothing is ever a guarantee, obviously, but judges strictly as a hire, I really don’t think we could have done any better at all.
Let’s fricking ride

From what I have been hearing, the main point of contention for Kelly was ND not investing more on facilities and being unwilling to.
Posted on 11/30/21 at 8:57 am to 1999
barely more than we were paying O. Plenty of money left over to pay 2+ mill for each coordinator and plenty left for the rest of the staff.

I'm actually shocked. One of the reasons I wanted Napier was because we could save some coin. Knowing that we're not paying 12-15 for Kelley makes this get that much sweeter.
Load up his staff and lets get to work.
