Smart move

He seems like he can over achieve there and IU can be excited about football for a few years.

Win-win imo

Good for him getting paid after being at the assistant level for so long

There are a lot of Mel Tucker similarities to this situation I will say

signed that thing riiiight before the Ohio State Game

For the “we’re paying Brian Kelly 10 million dollars!” crowd

That’s 9 million a year for 0 wins over ranked teams.

Michigan State expects to compete in football though.

Indiana does not. Huge difference.

Right, Cignetti actually has a track record of winning at different levels as a HC. Tucker didn't.

I’d take Cignetti over BK any day. One is an up and comer who keeps winning and one is an old bitch who hasn’t won anything.

Cignetti is where Kelly was 20
years ago and he’s not that much younger.

he’s an old up and comer.

Yep, hes been around a while and is on the back end of his career. Hope IU can hold onto him.

Good for him for getting the bag, but he probably would have had a lot of choices at the end of this year. He must really like and believe in IU.

They're giving him cash to build a solid foundation at Indiana.

At his age, if you can make that kind of money remaining in a program you are comfortable in and a conference you understand how to recruit and compete in, why the hell throw yourself into some unknown shitshow like head coach at Mississippi State having to compete in the SEC?

Totally fair, and I don't fault him at all. I just think there are some coaches' who are always trying to go to the next "big thing"

I think people would be shocked what they’re spending on NIL at Indiana

T-Bob said this morning “you’re only a basketball school until your good at football”

one of his better lines.
