I’m definitely not an insider but I’m a longtime fan.
I’m seeing zero evidence of our LSU AD in panic mode.

This entire board is in panic mode. I, like most, assumed the coach would be announced yesterday and it didn’t happen. LSU didn’t get played, we the fans just all assumed so since there was a history of such.

No hes not in panic mode..just the pussies on here are. The only reason Riley was even thought of on here was because of these dumbass so called insiders on here kept coming in here with that bullshite. Looks like he was USC all along. Woody knew that. Everyone needs to calm down and let the man finish the job

Panic mode would have equaled what Florida did with Napier. Both LSU and Florida are on high wire acts with this coaching decision. LSU obviously is choosing to walk much further out over the crevasse than Florida was willing or able to go. Certainly risk / reward type of situation. Did Florida hire a Ron Zook or a future Steve Spurrier type coach??? We shall see. For LSU it’s one or two things Woodward has had someone locked in for quite sometime or he is still fishing for that “whale” that this board uses so often. That later situation is hugely problematic and risky and that is how you end up with a CEO type hire. Until we learn who this is I choose to side with Woodward based on all of his previous hires. You all have to admit if Alleva were still charge we all would be shitting bricks right now. This all has been quite entertaining to watch as a somewhat older Tiger fan who has watched LSU coaching hires since Stokley era.

The hunting trip is either evidence that
A. Woodward thought he had Riley in the bag
B. Woodward has someone else in the bag
C. Woodward is the type to take vacations at crucial times in the most important task in his entire career

It’s his job as an AD to know if he’s being leveraged. No one being announced yesterday and the rumored delay into this week tells me he was caught off guard and is looking at backup plans.
